šŸˆ The Rankings: BAMA remains #1! Georgia is back in the playoff picture—for now.

Any idea what kind of record 538 has on football prognostications? (Their political ones didn't quite work out.)

What's interesting to me is this...

Give Clemson and Bama a win, OU and OSU a loss, and then the committee is looking at UCF and a three loss Washington team. A three loss team in the playoffs? It makes me carry a little doubt on their accuracy. (UCF with a 70% chance, minus their starting QB and UDub with a 57% chance.) And, if you look farther down, it would also mean a B1G conference champ, NW, would have a less than 1% chance to make the playoffs.

It should be UGA regardless of the outcome next week. Notre Dame didn't have a conference championship...no risk for them. This is what I was saying in a previous thread. It isn't fair that they get in without having to play a quality opponent in a championship game. I am not saying they would have to win that game to be considered. There are extenuating circumstances to this...hell, we have benefited from it, but my point is that based on who they play verses who UGA plays, Jawja should get the ticket.

My top 4 would be...

1.)Bama
2.)Clemson
3.)UGA
4.)Notre Dame

Those are probably the best 4 teams in the country. OSU dropped a major turd this season. OU has no clue what a defense is. They need to go to the 8 team playoff quickly and put this kind of crap to bed. You do that and you have something more like.

5.)OSU
6.)OU
7.)LSU
8.)Take your pick...UCF, Washinton, WVA

(Really you would have to look at Florida, Kentucky and Michigan for that 8 spot too, but no way you get 4 SEC teams in out of 8. )

1 Alabama Crimson Tide
2 Clemson Tigers
3 Notre Dame Fighting Irish
4 Georgia Bulldogs
Bama win I don't know it a 2 loss will get in
5 Oklahoma Sooners
Tex win OK will be looking in.
6 Ohio State Buckeyes
May have the best chance to being that #4?
7 Central Florida Knights
Still the Cinderfella(Jerry Lewis)
9 Texas Longhorns
No way every if their beat OU Tex. is 9-3 right now!
No I still don't know which other team will get in?

I tell ya! It’s going to be a fight, much like 2012 when Bama was #2 and Georgia #3. But I see us coming out of it the same as then.
It's only Sunday and I'll think about this more as the day goes on...but right now, it has a 2016 or 2017 Bama vs Florida feel to me.

I agree GA has less experience and talent than last years team if they can't run the ball it will be a long day for them.

Agree...but AU ran the ball....well...
Did they, though?

The 130 yards they put up yesterday wasn't that great...I can't say they ran the ball well, to be honest.

The 130 yards they managed rushing ranks below seven teams Bama has faced this season. If we look at the season as a whole, they're in the middle of the pack.

43 carries yields a little over three yards per carry. IF we compare that to D1 as a whole, that ranks alongside UTSA who happens to be ranked 128th out of 130 D1 teams.

Honestly....when i saw the numbers...stats...i was surprised....
I watchedtheir Oline whip our Dline....and RBs getting yards...
The second half they got behind and Bama did a better job...
So...130 yards...75 yard run called back....
They did run well....and yes...Bama did a better job in second half

I agree with you here. A couple of things that worry me are those intermediate drag routes Fromm loves to throw once the linebackers have cleared out and they absolutely kill you on those, especially on third down. The back shoulder throw is another that Fromm excels at.

Another play that they have killed people with is Holyfield simply bouncing the ball outside. He is faster than teams think he is and he gets to the outside a lot, hence why his YPC is so high. I think we have the speed and defensive scheme to keep him in front where teams like Tennessee and Kentucky did not.

Uga is going to move the ball against Bama. Better than any of us would like i would bet. The problem they will likely have is in the red zone. I dont see them pounding it in running and i dont see Fromm zinging TDs from 15-20 yards out either. I see at least 5 fg attempts for them and a couple of TDs. That puts them near 30 points. If Bama puts up 33, its a win.

All I can say, is no way Ohio State deserving of spot, even if they do beat a mediocre NW team. They lost to a 6-6 Purdue team, barely beat a BAD Nebraska team and had to goto overtime to beat a bad Maryland team. No sort of Urban Meyer colored glasses can erase that.
