In the tradition of the south, we're going to have to start off with a "Bless your heart" to Jessie--he's started out of the gate quickly.

"OSU's defense looked great today" while giving up more points to Michigan than they've averaged all season.

Purely based on talent, Ohio State. They are the only team that has the dudes.

UGA has the best loss to-date.

Clemson secondary against SEC teams this season gave up 940 yds / 8 TDs...

• TAMU's Mond w/ 430 yds & 3 TDs.
• South Carolina's Bentley w/ 510 & 5 TDs.

The problem for Jawja is if/when they lose to Bama next week, they'll have two losses, and if either Choklahoma or the bucknuts win its conference championship, they'll have just one loss. NOW! If Bama loses next week...I think we'll still see two SEC teams in the final four.

People are going to raise holy hell; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, but those same snowflakes are the ones screaming about an eight-team playoff. Two SEC teams in a final four for consecutive years might get the majority of college football fans (not...necessarily me) what they want.

Folks, I have no idea what the sooners call the other side of the ball in Norman but they treat defense like it doesn't matter. Which it won't until they leave the Big 12. I got Ohio State over Oklahoma easily as the #4 team.

They may scream about two SEC teams, but what happens when THREE SEC teams get in with an eight team playoff (In which I am 100% against)? If LSU had not lost yesterday, they probably would qualify in that criteria. And depending on how the placements had been set up, they could have THREE teams in then Final Four. Chew on that!

Unless committee has some balls and goes with UGA and Bama again over conference champions....andI dont see it....especially if it’s osu....( not twice will it happen). Logic...right or wrong.... i cant see them...the committee ...doing it back to back.... just win Bama....

Notre Dame has really gummed up the works this year. I was really pulling hard for USC. ND being a #3 seed is going to be a cakewalk for Clemson in the semi-final. I think our guys are better than Jawjaw and just don't see anyone keeping up with the points our team can put on the boards. Besides, winning the SEC is still important and being the first #1 seed to win it all sounds pretty sweet to me.

Granted...it makes sense...but osu drubbing #4 Michigan.....

Why, what? Why does no one else believe a loss to UGA means Bama is out of the playoffs?

If you're truly thinking this I believe your first mistake is trying to encapsulate a season within a period of two weeks. You can't. And, more importantly, the committee doesn't.

I don't believe we need to list the reasons why, do we? After all, they've been repeated time and time again over the last few weeks. And, more importantly, we've got a few years of committee decisions to base this on as well.

I'll start, if you like.

A Bama loss to a top four UGA in the SECCG is a better loss (and I HATE that phrasing) that an OSU loss to a 6-6 Purdue team by 29 freaking points!

This. If you're not a bread-and-butter triple option team (Citadel) or a gimmicky window-dressing team (Barn), you're not getting many rushing yards on this team.

UGAy is as much a pro-style downhill team as we'll see all year. If they eclipse the century mark on the ground against our coming-of-age defense, I'll be shocked.

The 130 yards they put up yesterday wasn't that great...I can't say they ran the ball well, to be honest.

The 130 yards they managed rushing ranks below seven teams Bama has faced this season. If we look at the season as a whole, they're in the middle of the pack.

43 carries yields a little over three yards per carry. IF we compare that to D1 as a whole, that ranks alongside UTSA who happens to be ranked 128th out of 130 D1 teams.
