1. Colt McCoy seems to run faster than Tebow
2. Texas doesn't have 2 fast midgets that take handoffs and screens out of the backfield.
3. when Tebow hits you it hurts you some. When Colt McCoy hits you it hurts him some.
4. Texas uniforms look better.

as you can see... not a lot of meaningful differences here. I think the "shock and awe" factor Bama's defense causes during the first 20 minutes of the game could be huge. it's like watching a bear eat a bunny rabbit... horrifying but you can't look away for some reason.

One thing (maybe the only smart thing) Danielson noticed and said is Bama's pass rush never went past Tebow. Once the ends got even with Tebow, they broke down and went inside instead of going around the offensive tackles.

I'm assuming that strategy remains the same against McCoy.

One thing you forgot: Musberger and Herbstreit will do 10x better than Verne and Danielson. Oh my goodness, that was worse to listen to the 2nd time.

I believe Texas is more dangerous offensively than Florida was. McCoy is able to find receivers much more quickly after his first and even second reads are ruled out. That won't give much time for pass rush. Plus McCoy runs very well when those reads break down.

Here's the thing: We had a spy for Hernandez in the Florida game, which took away one of Tebow's favorite targets. They used Hernandez in those little shuttle pass plays, which were a mix between a run and a throw, mixed into an option. Very hard to defend without a competent spy involved. Texas doesn't have a Hernandez, but they've got a better runner in McCoy. But they don't run out of the option. So, they will either pass the ball, or they will have the QB running. That's about it. I would feel very comfortable letting McCoy stay in the pocket, and giving him the short stuff (4-6 yards). What I think would break Bama would be letting this guy get us into short yardage 3rd downs, and burning us deep. McCoy is my biggest fear in this game.

It’s weird, if Texas was playing Florida I would be completely confident today that Florida was going to win 42-17, Bama beat Florida, and yet I’m not very confident Bama is going to win tonight. Although, I was totally confident Bama would beat Utah 42-17 last year so maybe me not being confident is a good thing. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
