šŸˆ The Coaching Carousel : UT promotes Kelsey Pope to WR coach

The Cards can't afford to match (or won't anyway), the money that OU can throw at Kingsbury (long term). He's in a good situation though in terms of his current NFL job. But, he can grab that guaranteed money from the Sooners, and even if he fails again in college, he has enough equity built up in the NFL he'd have no problems landing a gig there again (but odds are it wouldn't be as good a gig as he has now). So basically, what's more important to him? The NFL lifestyle and trying to win a Super Bowl? Or ALL THE MONEY, but having to deal with the CFB grind? I think he probably uses OU to get very nice raise and stays in the NFL...

Am I missing something? Why would he leave the best record in the NFL for a college gig? He's proving folks like me wrong, and already showed his college ability at Texas Tech.

I would think it would only be for the massive guaranteed contract the OU could offer. I don't see him leaving AZ though. And yes, he proved me wrong as well.

If you've watched SEC Now or just a little of the SECN's coverage from the studio you already knew Dari was an OU fan. When this news broke he was one of the first media guys I thought about: "How's Dari going to react publicly?"

(I'm sure this tweet was fueled by the story circulating about Roy Manning recruiting to USC while employed at OU in spite of not having a job offer at USC.)

I'm doing the Star Trek 'Spock's one raised eyebrow' while reading this tweet.

Why? It's important today but it hasn't been for the last eight seasons?

I guess it's because the "yeah, he's an asshole, but he's OUR asshole" no longer applies. I remember either while coaching at Cincy or ND, an assistant was leaning down talking to him getting a chewing out. The assistant, leaning down, just put his hand lightly on his shoulder, and Kelly exploded "don't touch me!".

@It Takes Eleven I don't know these kids from Adam so interpretation is only a guessing game. In that game I'm looking at body language and facial expressions while wishing I was a fly on the wall: it's not a good look.

About to have a knot jerked in their asses. Kelly doesn't eff around from everything I've seen. More business than anything, and I can only imagine the stark contrast between that and Coach O. These boys know it's gonna take a lot to turn it around to what Kelly wants.

Would be nice to see video. A single picture surely looks bad but it may not tell the full story. There does seem to be some less than enthused body language. Like what is this guy selling? Might be some bumpy times ahead even Saban had them his first year.
