LR leaving Oklahoma for USC is weird to me, OU is a better job than USC at this point.

Although LR probably doesn’t want to attempt the SEC and the PAC is a much much easier conference

Twitter rumor is he was unhappy about OU joining the SEC from day one.

It will take him a year or two but he is a good recruiter and will start nabbing a few of those big time recruits that have been going elsewhere.

If I remember correctly, a bunch of next years OU recruits are from Cali. I would bet he takes them with him.

Great move for him, more money, easier conference, chance to become dominate and make the playoffs each each due to PAC-12 being soft as Charmin. He already has a presence in the recruiting base in Southern California and will continue to pull kids from his current footprint.

Totally agree! The grind is a monster whether the talking heads want to admit it or not! No way Michigan, Cincy or Notre Dame would be in the playoff conversation if they had to grind it out in the SEC! No way!!

Biggest thing, I think ,of all of the coaching turnover will be whether or not OU goes after Heupel. If so, UT will continue to spiral downward. Should be interesting.

USC is a private school so they don't have to disclose the terms of the contract. But, you'll hear rumors. Find out what his contract was at OU and add $$$.

Had not thought about this happening. Would be great for him to dump the Viles and go to OU. Would enjoy laughing at the Vile fanbase some more. Never gets old.

I really thought LSU would wind up with him. Florida may be in better shape though he only has 4 years to do something with it.

Interesting move. Going from OU which is about to enter a big time conference to a conference that is 4th at best and not a lot of excitement about football. I am curious if he had a falling out with the OU administration, boosters or fans. Something behind this. Maybe it is as simple as he was about to be exposed in the SEC but these coaches egoes usually do not allow them to think that way.

Aren't there some NCAA issues with LSU right now that could cause an established coach to pause before taking the job?

I think LSU was probably slow rolling Napier as plan B expecting they would get Riley and he left them at the altar. This could be a double whammy and good for Bama if LSU has to go to a their backup backup plan and the Viles lose their new coach after one year.
