🏈 Thanksgiving week action SEC/NCAA (11-27/28)

Good morning, brethren and sistren of the RTB Republic!

We, the Crackers, are headed to West Virginia to gather with the outlaws for Thanksgiving. It's kind of hilly in hillbilly country and cell reception is sketchy at best. With that said, my glorious presence here may be lacking for the next few days.

My wish for all of you is that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, that you ignore the Heart Associations warnings and you stuff yourselves like pigs, and that your respective familial gatherings will be full of love and goodwill and absent the drama that is sure to come my way, if past holidays are judge.

The brother in-law circa the Cam Newton Iron Bowl--the one who insisted on changing the channel back and forth from the game to drag racing, if you recall a prior post of mine--will be there, so I insisted to Sweetater that we return home in time for the game. She said, "Roll Tide!" You got to love a woman who loves Alabama football as much as you do. So our plans are to be back here before kickoff.

Again, have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving.

P.S. @TerryP What's the NFL?

Don't get me wrong; I'm not chewing my fingernails out of sheer nervousness, but this LSWho?/tamu game is pretty encouraging. Kiffin has to relishing what he's got to face on Saturday.

Whatever mojo Lester found this season, I wished he would have found it before they played the barn.

Another game decided by the officials. There needs to be rule changes to challenge non flag calls, but I know it will open up another can of worms. Maybe if the Officials could have a rule to review a play like that.

Gonna have to listen to Jesse on Saturday. If I had to rate my least favorite commentators, he'd be at the top of my list with Craig James and David Pollack. Pollack has gotten better over the years, but I still don't care to listen to him most of the time.

Mark Jones, those two idiot Daves on the SEC Network, and Pam whoever wgo called our game v. Duke a few years ago top my list of least favorites. Jesse Palmer is reaching the top of list pretty quickly though.

TAMU shouldn't have been in that game. Can't wait to hear the Aggies whine on Monday...I'm gonna stir the pot a bit too.

At some point they are going to have to start explaining how Sumlin is worth the 5 million per year. The loss last night puts his Aggie teams at 3-7 (at home) in conference play since he became head coach: best win in 2013 vs a nine win Vandy team. On the other hand an 8-4 record on the road isn't something to make light of (though it comes with the Manziel caveat.)

For you math challenged guys, that's 11-11 overall (13 wins overall with two neutral site games.)

Not to mention, how many ranked teams has he beaten at home.

That is the pot I'm going to be stirring heavily. So they started out in the SEC 6-2 their first year in the SEC, but after 3 years of SEC play they are now 13-11. They were 13-12 their last 3 years in the Big XII. Imagine what that record would be without Manziel.

TAMU's OL hasn't played like they were supposed to this year (guess they are all out of Sherman recruits) and they need to learn how to play some defense (which is weird to suggest to a team known for having one 20+ years ago).

They could be looking at two coordinator positions to be filled in the offseason, hiring Muschamp seems like a no brainer at this point to improve the defense.

Lateral move
.

I dislike Pollock on in game commentary, but enjoy his analysis when he is in studio. Like most of you I dislike Palmer. If for no other reason tan he is obnoxious I can understand why the OBC never gave him the qb job solo.

WKU up 14-0 on Marshall.

I've lost track on this non-Power Five race for one of the main bowl games. Colorado State needs a Marshall loss along with a Boise State loss, don't they?
