🏈 Tenpenny Update - granted a dismissal from court

Alabama sophomore running back Altee Tenpenny was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance in his home town North Little Rock, Ark., during spring break.According to the incident report, Tenpenny was pulled over March 24 because of an "inoperational license plate light." After the officer detected "the odor of burnt marijuana," Tenpenny, who was described by the arresting officer as "extremely nervous," told the officer he "smoked a blunt" earlier in the night but initially denied that there was any in the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle ultimately unveiled a clear plastic bag filled with 2.1 grams of marijuana. Tenpenny then admitted to knowing of its existence and was transported to the police station. He was released with a citation.

"I’m aware of the situation with Altee and this is obviously not the kind of behavior we expect from our players," Alabama coach Nick Saban said in a statement provided by Alabama media relations. "In addition to any punishment he may receive from a legal standpoint, we will have some internal discipline as well as education that he will be responsible for working through."

Tenpenny is due in court April 10. That's sandwiched between two spring practices.

Little Rock radio station 103.7 The Buzz first reported the story.

Tenpenny, a four-star prospect whom 247Sports.com considered to be the No. 5 running back in the class of 2013, appeared in all 13 games as a true freshman, though it was primarily on special teams. He finished the year with 22 carries for 82 yards and a touchdown and five special teams tackles.

Tenpenny has typically lined up behind T.J. Yeldon, Derrick Henry and Kenyan Drake during the Crimson Tide's running back drills.

Of the running backs who dotted Alabama's roster in 2013, Tenpenny is the third to be arrested this year. Dee Hart and Alvin Kamara were no longer with the program when they were arrested.
More to come as the story develops.

Its 2014 and we're still harassing people over marijuana...pitiful.

Regardless, like the others Tenpenny knew the risk of being arrested regardless of the stupidity of the law. Only has himself to blame.

Its never gonna legalize it, tho they did at least legalize a form of canaboid to be used for medical purposes a cpl weeks ago so maybe there's even hope here. And yes you have to go to Florida (down here) if you want alcohol on Sunday's. I think there is a law about alcohol being sold so many feet away from a church too.

That's in place so that no one from your church will see you purchase alcohol. Us Baptist don't drink in front of each other.
