šŸˆ Tennessee is hiring UCF’s Josh Heupel as its next head football coach,

Fulmer’s retirement has EVERYTHING to do with this situation. Pruitt is now radioactive and won’t be able to land a job for a few years (not even as an analyst of Saban’s staff), IMO.

Narrator: It just got super ugly

I’m ecstatic over the NC, the Heisman, the bazillion other awards, the record tying number of unanimous AA’s and the 2021 recruiting class. Though to be honest, Fulmer being asked to retire in disgrace and UT being an absolute dumpster fire ranks right up there for me. I will NEVER tire of Bama beating the Vol’s. Fulmer becoming forever linked with recruiting violations would define karma.

I mean, wow. What exactly did they do to earn getting fired? Coaches are caught all of the time cheating and doing illegal things. Hiding sexual assault, paying hookers to be with recruits, Hugh Freeze's deal while at Ole Miss seems in line for firing of course, but does anyone have an example of what Pruitt is guilty of?

I don't follow Tennessee at all outside of recruiting battles between our schools, but what has the Board of Directors not seen that everyone else in the world has seen in that Phillip Fulmer seems to be the guy behind the mess that is Tennessee football, even dating back to those claims against Peyton manning when he was at Tennessee. Zero clue how he has made it this long.

I must say I am very disappointed in JP. It is one thing to fail because you couldn't recruit/coach/etc well enough to get your program up to speed but to resort to dollars to fix things will haunt him forever.

It will be interesting to learn of those below him did the dirty work with JP either not knowing or whether he allowed knowingly.

It is going to be interesting to learn JP's side of the story and at some point we shall. So far they're blaming JP for not knowing what was taking place but not for actually participating in the deal. Those two assistant coaches know the story and they will talk....perhaps.

Jeremy Pruitt fired: Tennessee chancellor vows football will have integrity (tennessean.com)

Quoting this for use later...

ā€œI’m unflinching about integrity,ā€ Plowman said, ā€œand we’re going to run our football program with integrity.ā€
