I might be wrong here...

I recall reading something about this a month or so ago, but it seems to me it was a vote held in ACC meetings.

While this might be true, it seems we would have heard something about it coming from the SEC meetings in Destin. It also seems that a radio sports show holds the possibility of getting it wrong.

I'm a little pressed for time or I'd see what I could come up with...

I recall reading that now...as soon as I saw the rule change on the definition of the tackle box it came back to me. In fact, saw it referenced on an LSU forum instead of a ACC forum because of their purple jerseys...

In other committee actions, the committee: Redefined the rules for roughing the kicker.

Now, if the punter carries the ball outside the tackle box, he loses protections provided as a kicker.

Approved a request to allow teams, when approved by the conference office and agreed to by both teams, to wear colored jerseys as long as they are clearly contrasting in color. When agreement is unable to be reached, the visiting team shall wear white. Noted that the next edition of the rules book will be in effect for the 2009 and 2010 football seasons as part of the NCAA’s two-year playing rules cycle.
