🏈 Team Update 3 August, 2015.

My initial thoughts on Cam going down and being "carted off" were something heat related or a twisted ankle. I knew that in shells, there wouldn't be full contact and getting rolled up on would be a slim possibility. I have always leaned to waiting for CNS to address an injury instead of any "inside" info, no matter how reliable it may be.
As for the QB situation, my personal view is that Coker and Cornwell could play out like the '11 season started out. The wildcard is Alec Morris as @TerryP has pointed out on numerous occasions. CNS rarely veers from his MO in handling QBs. Morris to me, falls in that McElroy category. He isn't flashy or carry the four or five star rep that others have but he is capable of getting the job done.
My main concern with Coker is how fast he gets the ball out to the wr on wr screen plays, and his quick decision making/progressions. Watching the Florida game last yr,it was amazing how much faster blake got the ball out to coop on wr screens then Coker did. Hopefully they have worked with him on this, and he has improved in these areas.

I agree 100 percent. I know I saw someone said on twitter that He improved on that. He's lot better now than he was this past spring. I think he addressed lot of things that people were complaining about. I'm more concerned with his arm strength and learning how to control that when he throws the ball. That can be a huge liability when he throws quick passes on slant passes or screen plays.

Yeah, I have heard and saw that as well. Totally agree with you on the quick passes, and slants too. I was pulling for Cornwell, but if Coker is our best option to win this yr then I'm 100 percent with that. If we drop an early game, or Coker is struggling then I want Cornwell in there for the remainder of the season.

Barnett and Bateman had the best day. Coker, Cornwallis, Morris. Mehh. Should get interesting.

This is one of those areas that makes scrimmages and reports/observations entertaining to me.

Everyone I've spoken with and from what I read surfing around last night ... all point to Barnett as having the best day. I think it was Cecil who made the comment on Twitter about "Barnett will start at UA ... whether it's in 2015 or 2016 ..." {sic}

After that individual perception comes into play. Several thought Morris had a better day that Coker and the rest of the group. As example:

I've said for a long, long time that I look at opinions and don't categorize them as right or wrong ... after all, it's one persons opinion versus another.

:hijack:

Changing the subject, slightly ...

Here's another example of entertaining, opinion, perceptions, etc.

I like ol' Herbie, but I have to say "hold up a second."

The media, both locally and nationally, were putting Coker as the guy over Sims. There were a lot of fans that bought into their opinion and adopted them as their own: many citing "sources."

---------------------------------------

See why I find this amusing?

Yesterday, we have a lot watching the same kids. But, how many are looking at the same thing? I won't pretend to know what Saban and Kiffin were watching and I certainly won't try to assume.

Just my opinion.

Interesting how people see things differently.

Coker looked terrible...mechanics were horrible(throwing off his back foot constantly), he rarely threw with his left foot pointed at the intended receiver, very nonchalant in his motions, balls were sailing high over the intended receiver. He just looked like he didn't care. Sorry, but my opinion is that Cornwell had the best day of any of them, 2nd would be Morris, 3rd would be Barnett, then Coker, and last would be Bateman(he absolutely sucked it up, his mechanics are TERRIBLE!!!!! He has hitches all in his motion that causes his passes to be behind the intended target)

Just my humble opinion.

Based solely on effectiveness today, I'd rank the Alabama quarterbacks in this order: Barnett, Morris, Coker, Cornwell, Bateman.

Ok so update of sorts here:

The QB battle is just in shambles lol for lack of better terms. God knows at this point how this will go down but rest assured I will know.
The Scrimmages I mentioned before on the 15th and 22nd are important, I will give live updates (play -by - play) as I have before on the Wooley. THIS is the separation tool for the staff, I have been told that at least 50 times. Everything until then doesn't matter near as much.

To address the kickoff and punt return stuff. Charlot will have a look at punt returns but let me tell you Adarius Stewart is a hell of a kickoff return guy and obviously Drake is Drake. I know we don't want to get anyone hurt, especially Drake but he gives a chance to take one to the house.

As for ole Griffith his health is fine, he is a head case right now. Which may be a good thing its now and maybe not later. If he keeps it up we may have to get Eddie on the train right the F now. Griff will cost us a game if he can't get himself centered.

I also want to apologize for not getting my info as quickly as usual. Work/travel have been more frequent lately. This week should be streamline.

I'd also like to bring this to your attention. After speaking with a staff SC source. We have changed our ways some with SC all together. Nutrition, cardiovascular , weight training. We wanted to produce faster, stronger, leaner defensive players. Now here is the results. Fatty package with a 6 pack.

Shambles? Talk about being dramatic.

I'm kinda hoping its Coker who gets the job this year, so that we get another QB battle next year. If Cornwell/Morris gets the nod, it would be harder for another QB to have a chance next year.

Hand and Robinson look pretty damn scary. Every one of those guys have some guns on them. Excited to see them boys go to work on the field.
