🏈 Team Update 3 August, 2015.

LOL, you are such the obsessed teenage girl. I'm sure Boz can chime in on this. He had the goods on the story as fall camp went down. That Sims had the team on his side and was throwing it well downfield. I predicted Coker to take over based on Butch Davis comments after seeing some of fall camp. I didn't see any practices nor did I claim to have evaluated either in the fall. It was a prediction based on the need to be able to stretch the field vertically with an OL that wasn't very good at run blocking. Sims turned out to be awesome at the deep ball. His performance last year was one of my favorite by any info recently. I couldn't care less if Coker starts this year either - he does have issues making decisions quickly and getting the ball out of his hand quickly.

I'll take that missed prediction based on 2nd hand observations compared to your complete ineptitude at recognizing and be I able to analyze the play during the games week after week during the season.
Yeah Blake kept me deeply rooted in the QB, he knew he was starting quite early as I had disclosed to you guys.

Update:

Chris Black has sustained a groin injury. Ridley should move in here if Black has a nagging injury.

No seperation at QB, sources on the team say the team is behind Coker at the present time.

As I said before drake has slightly increased speed, Tony brown has said he is the only guy uncoverable.

More to follow as it comes in.

Not sure how they got that.

Just like any other "rumor" gets out there.

Poster 1: I hope he doesn't have a broken foot.
Poster 2: I heard he might have a broken foot.
Poster 3: Reports have him breaking his foot.
Poster 4: His foot is broken.

I'm sure Suttles is innocent here but his choice of wording sent people in a tailspin when he said, "carted off." People immediately envion a player on the back of one of the med carts unable to move, etc. Even if he'd chosen to use the word "carried, " or even "helped," we'd see a few Bama fans with the hair they pulled out last night.

What really turned this subject on its head was one of the first posts about the injury tacked the phrase "word from a trainer..."

@Snout Spout @Mr. Pink

We were talking about the editing options here the other day and I mentioned I had those options timed out after 60 minutes. This story here is a great example as to why.

There's a poster on TI, Bamabino, who posted a thread yesterday that said Cam had broke his foot and followed that with don't shoot the messenger. In a "holier than thou" moment he came back telling that forum how they'd disrespected him, how they ruined the forum by dissing inside information, etc.

Now that the story is out and we know what the deal is ... his little sermon? Deleted.

I don't know if it originated on TI. I didn't bother to look at other sites to see if the "broken foot" story started earlier than that one. I strongly suspect it did.

Was the guy trolling? Quite possibly ... whatever you choose to make of "e-cred," that dude lost every bit of his yesterday. I'm sure there's a name change coming ... if he hasn't already.

on the QB competition, It sounds like a good thing for a team to lend toward Coker and it's not a bad thing. Everything Boz and other have said seem to indicate that Coker has improved a lot in many areas and Cornwell has as well. I kinda expect Coker to take over starting job...whether everyone likes it or not. I know some other poster on here have said its Cornwell many time.... but I found that hard to believe ...

I've always said BOL is not always reliable place to get the inside info... i think there are two or three people with reliable information over there, rest of them, I don't pay attention to them. When I heard the news that Cam "broke" his foot, I was like, impossible! I immediately came here, and I saw that it wasn't true. So when in doubt, I come back here and boom...

I'm not going to predict who the QB will be, because last year I did that and I ended up looking like an idiot (I was on the Coker train) and @Birdman37 made me eat a mess of crow. (By the way, has anyone seen birdman?).

But I will say this, every time I look into Coker's eyes I wonder if anyone's at home.

I'm hear, mainly just lurking. New job plus writing job plus fiance planning a wedding taking up damn near all my time. I still try to chime in when I can.

My initial thoughts on Cam going down and being "carted off" were something heat related or a twisted ankle. I knew that in shells, there wouldn't be full contact and getting rolled up on would be a slim possibility. I have always leaned to waiting for CNS to address an injury instead of any "inside" info, no matter how reliable it may be.
As for the QB situation, my personal view is that Coker and Cornwell could play out like the '11 season started out. The wildcard is Alec Morris as @TerryP has pointed out on numerous occasions. CNS rarely veers from his MO in handling QBs. Morris to me, falls in that McElroy category. He isn't flashy or carry the four or five star rep that others have but he is capable of getting the job done.
