🏈 Tailgate tips

This is my first time to ATL and SEC Champ game. Looking for tailgating tips - best place to park, what things you need to leave at home, what you need to make sure to bring, where to find out the different activitities that will be going on before the game, etc.

Thank you so much.

Welcome to the site.

Depending on where/if you are staying in the Atlanta area, you might want to consider parking remotely and taking MARTA in. I can't say that traffic will be horrendous, but I suspect it will be. Link below in case you need to familiarize yourself with MARTA.

Oh, and since you live in Madison, AL - you might want to consider bringing me some of the the best BBQ ribs (bar none) in the world!!! (Thomas Pit BBQ - yum!) I love both their black pepper sauce and their white sauce. I'm making myself hungry, already.

A friend told me to try and park on the west side of the stadium. There is a church with gated parking if you get there early - $20 parking, he thinks. If it is full, turn beside the church and there is more parking on the right.

The forecast calls for snow and rain. You may want to prepare, whatever that means for you.

I hope this helps!

tailgating sucks at the Dome... ....

If your taking kids they will enjoy the SEC fanfare (located next to dome at GA World Congress Center) Wouldnt suggest this for adults. CNN Center has a food court and Taco Mac (beer) for pregame activities. I usually just go to the Omni Hotel bar and hang out. As I stated tailgating is pretty limited.
