🏈 Sumlin Contacts SEC Office about Wilson Hit

I thought the SEC already addressed it.

I think Sumlin is thinking long on this guys, the game is over with.

More importantly, if I'm Sumlin, I'm talking to Myles about giving up on plays. Other guys were still in pursuit 20 yds down field. Myles gave up way too early if you ask me.

Sumlin did make comments praising Bama's d-line athleticism, dominance, depth, etc. I think this is kind of a peer pressure thing, fans being the peers in this case, and like @planomateo said looking at the big picture for the future (if I interpreted that right).

It still comes down to a judgment call by the official in the booth or the SEC office. In many plays, there is no question on whether or not it is targeting. Some people look at that particular play and say targeting because of the helmet to helmet while others will say the runner was not defenseless. Human judgment means a difference of opinion on some calls.

I don't know how in the world that play or call would have changed the game. Wilson isn't a starter and only played on kick coverage. It's not like it was Foster or somebody that actually played on the D. Granted, it would have given them 15 yards, but I don't think that would have matter in the least at that point in the game.

And on Sumlin taking it to the SEC, I have no issues on that either. Let the SEC figure out if a call was missed and if so educate the Refs for future calls. It could only HELP us in future situation to have the proper understanding on the rules and how they will be enforced. It really is no big deal...
