🏈 Spurrier: Want fair? Make Bama 'sit out a year of recruiting'

Hey Spurrier, I found a good shampoo for you .. No more tears.

Twice in one season... I would say he lost more to a Chris Samuels and Shaun Alexander team twice than I would a DuBose team tho lol

Spurrier seems to be taking more and more shots at Les Miles every year, prolly just because of how whiny Miles sounds.

Saw them both that year. In Atl, his visor and his team got a beat down. Great ball game.

I think the first game felt better than the actual SEC Championship. I know we hadnt won an SEC Championship since 92 at that point, but that first game was just huge. Bama was coming off that embarrassing loss to Louisiana Tech, Florida was #3 or 5 (cant remember) in the country, and was on this massive win streak at home at that point. Shaun Alexander has talked about how they were having a great week of practice that week and some alumni ppl came up to the players and were saying things like "you guys go out there and do your best and we'll get you a real coach at the end of the year" and he said the players felt insulted at that and Shaun looked at one of them and said "we're Alabama dude, we're going to win this game." It was just an epic game on all fronts. The second felt great because of the championship and the fact that it was an utter beat down.

I compare kinda to 09. Yeah it felt great to win the National Championship for the first time since 92 but that SEC Championship win over Florida was the most satisfying win that year imo.

I'm with a couple of you hating him at Florida, but enjoying him at South Carolina. He's a smart dude, great golfer, and a damn good coach. Hearing him rip into Georgia every year, jump on LSU, and envy Alabama is pretty great. I hope he sticks around for a little while longer.

I loved the championship game that year. The place was almost deserted by the fourth quarter. Then, we drove around in the cold with our windows down yelling at all the obnoxious Florida fans who had given us hell all day and all evening.

A buddy of mine in our car, which was packed with people by the way, ate a hot dog - nachos and cheese- and a whole bunch of other stuff during the game at the dome He also drank a humongous drink out of one of those souvenir cups. While we were riding around with the windows down I turned on the heat, and it must have gotten pretty warm in the back because he began to get carsick. Then, someone who shall remain nameless, cut the cheese., a disgusting, eye watering, foul and awful display of flatulence. Soon after, I heard this gut wrenching sound from the back "AAAAAAaaaarggggh". Then again, "AAAAaaaarrrrrrrrrrgh."

I thought, "Oh, no, not in my seat."

One of the guys said, "Don't worry, he got all of it in the souvenir cup."

Funniest thing ever in hindsight.

You guys ever wonder how it would be received if Saban said the things Spurrier says, and vice versa? For instance, if Saban took shots at TN and other teams and Spurrier made the 9/11 analogy and was the vocal about slowing the game down. I think for the most part, they'd still get treated the same... Saban blasted and SOS given a pass because he's just the Old Ball Coach who doesn't have a filter... Not complaining here, it doesn't bother me, I just always think about it when one of them makes headlines with a comment(s). What would the reaction be of the other one said this?
