🏈 So who will step it up on defense

Nico Johnson, CJ Mosley, and Robert Lester. I suspect one will be the most vocal and assume the role, but I suspect it will come from these guys.

Possibly even a shared role with Lester handling the secondary and one of the LB's handling the front 7

Glad to hear that about Mosley. The talent/depth in our front 7 is unreal, but a position up front that we need someone to step up and fill is NG. We have more talent than we know what to do with (well, I'm sure Saban can figure something out!) but they're all more suited to play on the outside. I'm hoping that Ivory will step up and fill that void. Jesse Williams is capable of filling the void, but I think he's more suited for the outside.

My saying CJ is getting around with no sign of injury doesn't mean he's ready for full contact drills. It doesn't mean he's ready for the full 4th quarter program either.

My biggest concern when I first saw it, and heard it was his hip - that he wouldn't be able to make a 100% full recovery from it. He's going to be a special player when it's all said and done.

You weren't alone. I saw a lot making comparisons to Bo's hip when it was two completely different types of injuries.

Isn't there still plenty of time though?

As of yesterday afternoon...

CJ was in rehab yesterday morning. He's doing well and said, "I hope to be ready for full contact come spring practice."

So yes, there is time.

I haven't looked, and if it has been published I've missed it, so I don't know the first day of spring camp. With the exception of LSU (spring camp starts the 1st of March) everyone else in the SEC starts camp between the 14th and 23rd of March. Alabama and Missouri are the only two schools that haven't announced their first practice day.

That's about right. We usually have about as many off days during spring camp as practice days.

It's odd ESPN has the date and no one else.
