🏈 So who will be the backup QB

I would look for the Morris kid to really push Ely and possibly overtake him by midseason. He has that "air" about him.

Too soon I fear. Ely came from a QB producing school and from that sense should have reported with the ability to learn. Having the ability to learn, Ely has had much more time to get ahead of Morris and to get use to the speed/pace. The potential equalizer is that both have a first year Coordinator, but then again as CNS says "we don't out-source our offense" so what ELY has learned should remain valuable.

Right now it has to be Blake. We'll see him taking snaps before Ely. Hell, Saban has already mentioned packages specifically designed for Blake.

I'd assume the first we'll see of Blake will be a play with AJ lining up outside followed quickly by "why keep AJ on the field when we can put a WR there" threads.

Dont play with my emotions Terry, I been wanting to see this for 2 years.

We actually had plays in place last season for Blake, just never used them.

I said what I did because Saban made several references to Blake during the Crimson Caravan tour this past May. He was questioned on more than one occasion about Phillip transferring and that was his response each time.

It's my thought on whether or not we'll see it is dependent on whether or not we'll NEED to see it. We had the wildcat in our playbook ready to go last season. How often was it used?

"Packages? We don't need no stinkin package." If AJ goes down with a broken thingee-bob, we will need a back up QB not packages. That said, are you saying that Blake will run the playbook or just direct-snap make-it-happen plays?

As for the AJ or a WR topic, since you brought it up... Just kidding.
