The other thing I would like to add is that in college football, every move would be lateral for him. He may have been approached by college programs, but there isn't anywhere else he could go and get MORE money, power and support than he ha with Alabama. The math back this position up. Texas, USC and maybe Ohio State and Florida are the only programs on the same level as Bama when it comes to the total package of facilities, fanbase, administrative support, recruiting channels, etc etc.
I have a friend who is a high end exec in Tampa, and he said (for what it's worth) that it was the Buccaneers that made the strongest push.
Saban listened earnestly to them but was not wanting to leave Alabama. Terry was adamant about staying in Tuscaloosa. She loves it there.
