I might be the only person here who has serious doubts about our ability to field an SEC champion QB next year or even the next. That is the standard, after all: to be able to guide the team to Atlanta. I don't think we have a guy on the roster right now who can do that. This year was a great example of why a "game manager" will not be able to get the job done when the defense or the supporting offensive cast is not exemplary. A game manager can help you get to the title game if everything around him is stellar and performing well. Particularly the defense, in this league. We had an adequate defense this season, but not the same one we had in 08 or 09. So, as a result, the QB has to be better than average. Does anyone see a guy like that on the roster?
Sorry to seem so negative, but I truly see next year as a rebuilding season. The only way we can have some continuity next season is if some of the juniors that are expected to go pro decide to stay. After that loss to Auburn, we might just see that.
