Some folks are stuck in the 1940's. Michigan and ND suck in bowls, both being under .470 while Bama sits at .620. Bama has more NC since 1950 than either of them have in their history. Bama has more NC in the last 15 years than they have together in 50 years prior to that. This century (2000 season forward), Bama is 17-8 in post-season play while Michigan is 5-13 and ND is 6-11. They are only considered blue bloods because they owned the 1940's and ND had some good years in the 1970's.

But its so stupid. ND #1 is beyond stupid as is Michigan @2

You said it. They are so caught up on Rockne, the four horsemen, Touchdown Jesus, and Rudy that is takes away from the fact they aren't that great of an overall program. Dominated in the 40's, but sporadic after that and now in Georgia territory at 33 years since a title. That's not something a storied program can be proud of. Oklahoma, Michigan, Ohio State, USC, Alabama, Miami can all claim Natty's since then.

The world of ND is kept alive by the press and somewhat by the religious affiliation...... the national schedule is incredible....coast to coast....out of country...every body ?????? would love to have ND on their schedule...

So...maybe @OldPlayer has a point of closer attention...storied could well put ND on top....
On the other hand...Michigan...not so much...maybe not-even in top 5-10....
Certainly Oklahoma would be higher than Michigan ...Nebraska...ohio state..Texas..USCw..( not considering a lot of current success) much higher too


Of current....Bama would definately be at the top...the "we want bama". The"roll tide". The "BEAR" ......Nick ..... the pure sustained success...

According to the dictionary:

“celebrated in or associated with stories or legends.”

Notre Dame does have a lot of stories (Win one for the Gipper, the Four Horseman, Rudy) about their program (none of them related to winning championships).

I saw Chris??? Russo's list of the most storied programs yesterday and he had nd, Michigan, AL A BAMA A, USC and Oklahoma as the top 5.

Alabama had gaps back in the 20's ??? ...... Didn't we win the NC in '25 and '26?
We've won a National Championship in every decade except for the 50's and 80's.
Notre Dame didn't win one in the 50's and hasn't won one since the 80's.
Michigan didn't win any in the 50's, 60's or 70's and wasn't seen or heard from, until that beatdown last year from Georgia, since the late 90's.
Clearly I'm in the wrong profession.
