He told a hilarious Wimp Sanderson story the other night at the event in Enterprise. Says he never applied for the Alabama job (he was basketball initially, after Kennedy was fired they brought Forney back for one more year before Eli took over football) but his name kept showing up in the newspaper as being someone considered for a job. Then one day the newspaper said he was going to be interviewed and he was like WTF? So he called the associate AD (not Steve Sloan, the other guy cant remember) to ask what the deal was. He asked Eli if he wanted to come in and interview and Eli of course said yes.

So Eli comes in for the interview and both Wimp and Bill Curry are sitting on a couch. Bill leans up and shakes Eli's hand and then Wimp stands up and when he stood up his crotch was about eye level with Curry's face. Curry looked up and according to Eli had the most hilarious look on his face as he said, "Damn it Winfrey I hope that's chicken soup on your pants!" Wimp cursed Bill out and sat back down. That had me rolling.

Off topic a bit, but did anyone see/watch the high school game between Sierra Canyon and Oak Hill last night? It was during part of the Bama game. I think almost all of them are D1 bound. Arizona State, Creighton, Duke, etc. The number one junior player in the nation played for Sierra, which broke Oak Hill's 56 (?) game winning streak. Crazy good basketball. Honestly, I think either team might be top five or better in the SEC this season. 6'11" and 7' players. Quick players. Shooting over 50 per cent from three entering the fourth quarter, if memory serves. Several dunks.
