🏈 SEC Coaching Search: Reports: Pruitt to Tennessee: Chad Morris to UArk

Malzahn echoed those sentiments during his postgame media session, saying that he believes the team will repeat as SEC West Division champion and return to the conference title game one year from now, adding: "I'm happy at Auburn. I think the best is yet to come."
What he said and what he meant:

The best = Being paid multi-millions in a buyout and not having to work.

Gus best look at next year's schedule and realize that for all his success this year his team was no road warrior. All 3 losses away from the plains. Athens and Tuscaloosa will be waiting.

From Volquest.com

We believe Fulmer interviewed Alabama defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt in Dallas on Monday morning, and per a source, held another interview with another unknown candidate before making his way to New York City.

Later found the other candidate was Mel Tucker.

Reporting also Tee Martin has finally gotten a call. Tell you @Bamabww Fulmer's list is making Currie look like a slacker.

Now Volquest says Kevin Steele almost a done deal. Stay tuned....

Fulmer keeping Volquest guessing, here's the breaking news as of late yesterday:

Tuesday, December 5 - 10:14 PM Update - Things heating up with Vols and Pruitt

Tennessee athletic director Phil Fulmer will conduct a second interview with Alabama defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt either Tuesday evening or on Wednesday morning according to Brent Hubbs of Volquest.com. Pruitt who has been at Alabama since 2016 has kept the Crimson Tide’s defense tops in the Country, this year Alabama finished the regular season allowing just 138 points (11.5 average) which was first in the Nation and also lead the entire Nation in total defense.

During the 2016 season under Pruitt, Alabama’s defense allowed just 13.0 points per game and just 63.9 yards per game rushing and recorded 54 total sacks. Before Alabama Pruitt coached for two seasons at Georgia where he was the defensive coordinator/secondary coach and also held the same positions at Florida State during the Seminoles 2013 season when Florida State won the National Championship. Currently, Pruitt is making 1.3 million per year as the defensive coordinator at Alabama, a salary that will grow by 100,000 over the next two seasons.

Pruitt was a recent finalist for the Mississippi State Head Coaching Job, before the Bulldogs hired Penn State offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead.

Internet fodder (so take it FWIW) says this nearly a done deal and that he'll be taking Tosh as his DC and Chip Lindsey as his OC (that's where I started laughing).

Volquest saying Pruitt, Steele and Tucker have all had 3 interviews and Pruitt may be in the lead. Fulmer has asked all three if Tee Martin would be an acceptable OC. As @bama alum said, all internet fodder and from a Vile network so keep the salt shaker handy.

No, No, and hell no. That ain't no way to start a relationship as a HC. My staff, my players, my fault.
