šŸˆ SEC Coaching Search: Reports: Pruitt to Tennessee: Chad Morris to UArk

I heard Tebow being interviewed about the hire and he began to list the names of quarterbacks Mullen had worked with. The names were familiar...Smith, Dak, and Leak. When Tebow mention Brian Johnson I thought to myself "that's a bit of a stretch." My jaw dropped when I heard him give Mullen credit for Cam Newton.

Who would you give credit to Newton then? Coached by Mullen for a year plus, Blinn College for a year and Malzhan for about a six months.

Gundy to TN ??
I can't begin to even describe the amount of leverage Gundy has over the administration at UT. Literally, he should be able to name his price.

Now, Gundy has won 10 games at Okie State five out of his last eight years (including the '11 season.) How many conference titles in the Big12 in that time span?

I don't see this as a good fit, or any kind of fit, at all.

He went through fall of his frosh year backing up Brantley who was backing up Tebow. In the spring of '08 he'd beaten out Brantley but still behind Tebow. He missed the '08 season with a medical.

Running with the 3's...then the 2's in spring and fall camp. Behind Tebow. How much time do you think Meyer/Mullen were spending with Cam? By the time he arrived at Auburn he was still an athlete playing quarterback--not a true QB in the sense I'm referring to here. That '10 season he was a middle of the pack QB in the conference above guys like Relf, Masoli, Simms, and Jefferson.

I don't see him as developed when he arrived at Auburn. Just one of those "freaks of nature" playing the QB position.

With respect I disagree. I believe Mike has done more with less at OSU. He type offense isn't much different from what Butch was trying to get done at 10RC. I think he would be a great addition to the SEC. JMO

Malzhan never coached Cam to be Cam. They tried to keep him in the pocket for the first 5 or 6 games before the realized what they had and let him run. Cam improvised most of his best plays and never really progressed in the passing or reading of the Defense under Malzhan. He's done so in the NFL, but he was never "coached" by Malzhan... just "played" by him...

Mullen probably spent as much time with him as any other QB on the roster not named Tebow. And IMO Cam is still playing as a "freak of nature" at QB. He's never been a polished passer. He's obviously gotten better in the NFL but to a great extend. Hell, he's regressed in the last two years. And Malzhan doesn't exactly have a reputation as a QB Whisperer.

Thats what I was saying lol
