šŸˆ Saban says stay late Saturday

One of the most grief my Auburn fans give me is when Saban seems to lecture the fans. It does seem he is a little mad that we get complacent and leave early and only make it a loud atmosphere for 1-2 teams a year. The gameday experience hasn't been great lately because we smoke people.
The older I get the more I feel I am giving my money to the school for tickets and the stadium is loud enough but I do see his point.
When we were just getting rocking around 08-12 and it was new being the top dog we had some games that gave you goosebumps it was so electric. I would leave with a literal headache and no voice.

Thoughts?
Here is the article
Nick Saban urges fans to 'stay committed' for 60 minutes

I think fans get complacent.

I can remember going to Ttown in either 09 or 10 for the Miss St game (the year of Saban’s ā€œI don’t give a shyt who we’re playingā€) that place jumped off, it was crazy. Miss St band was trying to get their asses kicked by antagonizing the fans by doing the gator chop. One of the best atmospheres I’ve ever been around

There are college campuses all over the country that would go ape s#it for a title contending team, but Bama fans can't manage to support the team for four quarters. I think its starting to hurt recruiting. If not it's certainly not helping.

Seriously?! #1 is #1...

I can't stand when Saban complains about the fans. Those same derranged fans that show up 90,000 deep for a Spring game are the same fans that make his ridiculous salary possible. It ain't gonna be perfect, pal. Get off your high horse and understand how good you got it, cause of the fans, and take the handful of bad things with the universe of great support.

Tomorrow is a big recruiting day. My evening is already blown by it being a 8pm kick so I'm going to stay for the whole game. Difference in leaving at 11:30 v 12:00 not that big of a deal by that point of night

Saban can get that same support most anywhere he goes. Texas in particular, or LSU, or anywhere else that wants a championship football team. Also lets not get things twisted... the university and the community make A LOT more money off of Saban than vice versa.

I'm not sure I follow why you would question why coach wants the fans to stick around, and encourage the team to finish. The fans demand the team finishes every week so why not everyone finish ?

At best there are what ? 15 days of the year Alabama plays football ? And how many home games per year ? And how many of those home games over the years have been played during a dynasty where Bama is almost certainly going to play for a title at the end of the season ?

We all look forward to it, but once it gets here folks don't want to watch all four quarters ? LOL - Thats dumb as hell. Especially now with all the young freshmen that are so much fun to watch.

I absolutely agree with CNS. A good game day atmosphere helps the program. It would be best for everyone concerned if we had 100,000 Scott Cochrans in the stands, and why not ? When I watch a night game at LSU, or a home game at Clemson it looks like a lot more fun than what we are having at BDS. JMHO

Completely agree as a fan base we are totally spoiled... But it just is what it is. It's kind of his fault for rolling everyone over week in and week out, and I believe most if not all fan bases would act the same way under the game day circumstances in T Town after years of ass whippings.

It's pretty simple brotha... We live in a society where people want convenience. Staying until the end and fighting traffic is a b*tch. People pay money to be entertained, it's up to them when they've been "entertained enough". Not Nick Saban. Paying for an overpriced ticket to watch your Tide roll over another sh*t team is awesome, but being stuck in traffic an extra hour or two to watch some plays that have no impact on the outcome is less awesome... To them... It's their Money, not Saban's. (Obviously the frats are the other big issuem which is alcohol related)

But here's my main beef - How long has he been complaining about this? Has it changed? It's like groundhogs day and for some reason he doesn't get that the fans will do what they want to do.. Not what he wants them to do... **Usually

its always been amazing to me how many people leave early...
My section...at half....people are up and gone.....
Somany are there for the atmosphere....not football....and the second halfis football..
Or to beat the traffic....or the long drive home...Mobile, Huntsville, Montgomery..etc
Especially late starts...crappy opponents....boring games....
By fourth quarter....tonight....BD will be emptying....
Ole msfans will head home...students will be partying....
......sorry Nick.....
But it has always been like this....
unless its AU, TN, UGA , Fl or LSU.....
But...vs lesser opponents....at kickoff...the stadium is packed....and its not like that everywhere.... us fans fully support the Crimson Tide and Nick Saban.....

It me but I will stay pass the end of the game. But I just can't get enough of our Tide! I also do it here at home this is winning, or that other thing I don't like watching Bama doing!! Like when I was a kid I will be listening on the radio, and I will listen to the whole game.

For those that live in the T-Town area, or relatively close by, staying until the end of the game should be less of an issue than those which do a fair amount of traveling. Especially for a game that concluded at such a late hour. A long day of partying, a long game, and then a long drive home, late at night , when fatigue may set in, could be a recipe for disaster. I would hope that those that request, insist, or demand, that fans stay for the entire contest of a game that ended so late, would take that into consideration before making such an issue out of it. I hope those that left after the game, and even those that left before the end, all had a safe journey home.

Roll Tide!

got to tuscaloosa before 7:00 am....stayed until the end of the game and did Rammer Jammer.

i got back home and in bed at 2:00 am this morning. that's a long day....but well worth it.

i have NEVER left a game early...and i never will, barring a family emergency. you'll have to drag me out of that stadium, i don't care what the score is. up by 60 or down by 100....i'm there till the end.

and i'm about to leave to go back and break down the rest of the tailgate that we didn't do last night.

The nature of the beast of being #1:
  • TV always wants you so you have more prime time (later) games
  • cost inflation for attending games
  • only the rich (and impatient) can afford to attend
  • Saban destabilizes the rest of the conference resulting in blowouts
  • fewer regular season games are competitive
  • offenses are making games last longer
  • mobile technology delivers game highlights in an instant, so why sit through a long game and the traffic afterwards
  • overall attention spans are shortening
Entropy, my friends. The stadium expansion bubble has burst. The construction boom had to come to an end sometime.

I for one did what Coach Saban ask us fans to do! I stay in my seat till the end of the game! I even listen to his after game post too! Till, Eli said we will see you all next week!! :D

pretty sure the number 1 and number 2 ranked players in the nation are visiting Saturday for the game. Saban wants to make a good impression. Dude thinks of everything.
