Would assume he was told to find another job to avoid getting fired. Makes me wonder if Texas has a similar play to their Sark hire lined up in the wings, knowing Chris Beard would take the job? No idea if he'd want it, but I bet they'd want him. He was the guy I wanted when Avery was canned and I remember learning then he went to Texas. But, he seems to have a good thing going at Tech, wouldn't be easy to walk away from that and into the Texas fire, IMO.

Texas can afford a good coach. However, will a good coach want Texas? I don't think they'll want an "up and comer."
