| MBB/WBB Rick Barnes: "I'm going to put a new drill in. Anytime you see a coach on the floor, you have to run over him..."

Buzz Williams did everything in his power to make sure he got a timeout called during Texas A&M's 85-69 upset win over then-ranked No. 6 Tennessee basketball in College Station on Saturday night.

A&M's coach charged his way to midcourt in the midst of Tennessee trying to inbound the basketball after a Jace Carter three extended the Aggies' lead to 15 late in the second half. The three-man crew of officials consisting of Pat Adams, Brian Dorsey and Will Howard granted Williams the timeout, sending Rick Barnes into a rage.

"Absolutely should have been a technical foul," Barnes said during Vol Calls, the exclusive statewide radio show for Tennessee Athletics, on Monday night. "Absolutely. 100%."

Williams was given a warning for leaving the bench after he was awarded the timeout. He did not receive a technical for being "in the jump circle" despite almost running into Tennessee sophomore forward Tobe Awaka when he ran on the floor.

"Tobe avoided him," Barnes said. "I'm going to put a new drill in. Anytime you see a coach on the floor, you have to run over him. You have to hit him. Don't avoid him. That was a ridiculous play for them not to (call a technical).

Its best not to publish drills like that so it can be explained as the organic and the opposing coaches fault.

It’s probably more like he just wants to send a message to opposing coaches and refs to call the tech. Foul.
