🏈 Report: Mike Tranghese and Condi Rice expected to be on CFB Playoff Committee...

With three spots already set in the college football playoff committee, it looks like a fourth is being locked down as well. According to Brett McMurphy of ESPN, former Big East commissioner Mike Tranghese is the newest addition to the roster.

If Alabama gets in next year, its because the selection committee is bias towards Alabama :icon_lol:

The committee is going to be cluster, just like everthing else. So it's best to have as many UA friendly folks on it as possible. More more UA bias, the better. I know you were being funny, but we best take what we can get... cause everyone on there will have a bias of some degree or another.

It baffles me to see some of you react by emphasizing how it affects Bama's particular prospects. It reminds me of the political landscape today. Everyone supports government intervention if it benefits their bottom line, forgetting that any bias that may benefit them in the short term comes at the expense of the whole system in the long term.

Everyone ought to be outraged by this instead of selling out to the prospects that maybe this insanity will give their favorite team extra leverage.

Goode Lowered Amighty! Outraged because of a selection of a person who has proven she not only knows football but follows it closely? And it just so happens she's a Tide fan to boot!

I caught a note earlier today that Barry Alvarez and Jeff Long are two AD's that look to be on the committee.

I now feel even better about my stance! Roll Condi! Roll Tide! Roll America!

Guess what?

I know football.
I follow it closer than most.
I'm a Tide fan.
And as a bonus, I haven't been complicit in the cover-up and/or execution of some of the most heinous crimes against Americans and foreigners alike, resulting in nefarious personal and professional associations that ought to merit immediate disqualification for consideration.

There is a plethora of other knowledgeable candidates who have dedicated more of their lives to this game than her.

Im not on Musso's bandwagon with losing my sh*t over it, I just have no desire to see politicians of any kind in this. I mean saying she knows football is a pretty lame excuse. I know football, yall know football, that means we have the same qualifications she has... See my problem here? This would be like the NCAA letting Obama join the college basketball tournament selection committee because "he knows basketball." Its kind of ridiculous.

There's that item on her resume' about her tenure as one of the upper-administrators at Stanford...sort of puts a pretty wide gulf between you two.

For the record, a cogent argument isn't losing one's shit. In fact, losing one's shit usually impedes cogency.

I'm just astounded why we have to make the case, given unprecedented levels of disapproval for politicians today, against greater collusion between politicians and NCAA football.

Oh well, to hell with the game's integrity. Keep concentrating the game's control in the hands of a few. Whooo hooo! Roll Tide! Condi will give us some love! Let's celebrate our team having inside connections! Pass me another! :lance:

How difficult is it to see that there is a panel being formed of people who have biased opinions, and that some of us want some of those people chosen to have biases for Alabama, so that if a time comes, someone will fight for Alabama? I'm an Alabama fan. I don't give a shit about Florida, LSU, Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Florida State, Texas, Oklahoma, Oregon, Stanford, etc. If Alabama gets a slot that one of them are more deserving for in a 4 team playoff and they end up left in the cold becasue a friendly panel member showed us favoritism, then good. Sure beats the hell out of us getting screwed. Plus, I'm one of those people who enjoy when Alabama plays for Championships.

If you don't like Condi on the panel, that's cool. There are other slots open... And there are plenty of other folks out there that are lobbying to be on it... you know, like Phillip Fulmer.
