🏈 RED Zone Attack Plan

Since no one seems to be able to come up with a Scoring Game Plan in the RED Zone for Bama this year, other than a Field Goal...

I recommend we use Mt. Cody as a Fullback, and Mark Ingram with him. Run them both, and give one or the other the ball..

I think we will finally have a winning combination then.. every time !

Best recipe is to get to the redzone repeatedly until we establish a rythm for it. We dont need to be relying on one or two people at that time, because with the field becoming more and more compact its easier for defenders to go after a few key guys.

I have no problem with field goals either, as long as we get to the redzone often. As long as we continue to go for the touchdowns the first three downs, they will come eventually.

As you can see, it's not the problem of getting there.

A few more TD's and we'd be leading the league in the number of TD's from the red-zone.

Thanks for the chart. One of the most interesting I have ever seen.

#1 team in the Nation is #9 in the SEC! And only .2% from being #11. That is two tenths of one per cent sports fans!

I have a feeling the offense is going to be better this week. McElroy seemed like a week to clear his head is exactly what he needed........As far as the red zone, you need to go talk to McElwain about that. He is the one that seems to panic when we gets down there. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall when Saban and McElwain met this week. If things don't improve in paycalling, it wouldn't surprise me to see a change.

The best stat there is Kentucky. They scored 22 times in the red zone, 19 of them touchdowns.

There's a lot of meat in those stats if you look in depth at them...

It could be Saban holding him back. Might be like Stallings in that respect. He might be hearing, " our defense is playing too well for you to do something stupid and lose the game."

You know I have thought that and you could be just being sarcastic. However it seems like the offense has been trying to be cute the last few weeks and have gone away from their bread and butter running game. Like I said it could just be me.

And there you go, I have no problem with the us getting to thhie redzone, what I had meant was for us to keep getting there so frequenttly.

But dang look at Georgia, that is not good.

Oh, I am not being sarcastic at all. I could not be any more serious. Saban strikes me as being like a pitcher who is pitching a shutout and has a catcher with a bad arm. He would call the catcher to the mound and tell him, "don't worry about that guy down at second; if he steals third, I'll keep him there. I damn sure don't want you throwing the ball out into left field and letting him score."

For the life of me Cory, I have no idea how this has not become routine. Let Julio get hit feet set under him and lob it in for a jump ball...rebound. Honestly, who can out jump him?

I would like to see jumpballs to Julio with Julio's feet set because I agree nobody is going to out jump him. Greg hasn't thrown the balls to him very well.

Cory

CNS said it the other day that he wants more shots taken downfield in the passing game. I believe he wants both Greg and McElwain to go all out and really put the hammer down when we get a shot. If Greg puts a little more air on some of his Fade routes, we're going ape because Julio has 6-7 TD grabs. Coach Homer Smith used to do a drill with his QBs and I used it as well. Place a 55 gal drum in the corner of the endzone and try to ring it. It works on getting air under the ball and even when throwing the deep ball. Greg will get better.
