I may be off base but I think he had some discipline issues and got into Saban's doghouse. He didn't participate in Spring drills so no idea about the kick returner notion. We all know that if you get in Saban's doghouse, you are pretty much done for with the program.

At the end of spring ball the return guys getting the most reps were Amari, Dee, and Cyrus.

Now that I think about it, returners on the team is probably the biggest swinging door on the roster...by that I mean we'll have one guy handling it for a couple of weeks and by the time we get to Saturday's in the fall it's someone else.

We were right at the top of the SEC last year in kick returns—middle of the pack in punt returns.
