🏈 Reasons why BAMA beats LSU .

Alas, to hoist the crystal on January 9, Bama will need a lot more than just intangible "revenge karma" based on what nay-sayers have said, say or think of them. This puppy is going to be decided by Special Teams. The school's Special Team unit that scores more effectively will win the BCS . Period. Realizing that, I hope Bama has taught Stevie Wonder how to kick a football through the golden arches.

Higher offensive potential than LSU.

November 5th saw two defenses dodge bullet after bullet. Doing so for 4 quarters can happen, but if one thinks of this as one long 8-quareter game, I like the Tide's chances of breaking loose with some points.

(That said, these teams are so well matched that it will come down to who has a better day.)

I liked what Bama did in their gameplan against Auburn, maybe we could do the same for LSU, mainly getting Smelley and the other TEs involved, maybe a trick play or two, but most of capitalizing on scoring opportunites, I think we want more touchdowns then field goals. :a:

Because we are a better team than LSU. (No one has said this?)

Rant:

LSU is all high and mighty, their players/coaches may not be on their high horses but still, they know what the fans are saying. What the media thinks. What THEY think. They're the best team ever. Right? Maybe they are. That, or the luckiest one. They've had some bad games. Think vs Arkansas and Georgia. Yet they keep winning.

The one team they cannot beat is the team that has already lost to them. Everyone thinks Bama doesn't deserve to be here. I know many BAMA fans who think we don't deserve it. Insanity. We deserve this chance. We lost to LSU in overtime by 3 points. We left 4 field goals on the field, as well as a completed pass at the 1 yard line late in the game. We had that game if not for those missed opportunities. We know what we have to do. LSU may know too, but they will be going in with confidence, wanting to show the fans who they are, hold that crystal football once more.

Alabama will be going in with confidence as well. Confident, that they will NEVER make those mistakes again. The mistakes they made on November 5th, 2011.
Just like with the Iron Bowl last year, Bama made some mistakes on November 5th. And what did we do to Auburn this year? Forget that. What did we do to FLORIDA, who many thought to be one of the best teams ever to play on a football field? We lost to them in 2008 in a close, hard-fought game. What did we do in 2009?

What I anticipate: Alabama goes into the championship looking happy, ready. Ready to fight back and win what should have been theirs on November 5th. Forget the crystal ball. They want to beat LSU. The players know they need to. If Cade Foster lines up for a field goal, he won't miss it no matter the distance. LSU? They will go into this game as they go into every game. Not much more needs to be said.

If it had been Alabama against LSU on December 3rd, do you know how many points we would have had up against them by halftime? And they didn't have a single first down? I doubt that LSU meltdown will happen January 9th, but just imagine.

I think the game will be well in hand by halftime. In our favor.

Roll Tide Roll! :a:

I love your confidence and I so hope you are right. One thing I do disagree with is LSU being "lucky" against Arkansas or Georgia. They got down early to both teams but stormed back and created opportunities for themselves. I watched both of those games and LSU won going away and with full control just like every opponent they played, except one, Alabama.

One point that I have not heard anyone, anywhere, address is this. "peaking too early" is/has been a real factor. "Getting hot at the right time", "Sustaining through a long season", and stressing rankings at the end of the season are all tried-n-true figures of speach because play on the field proves it.

LSU had a bruital schedule. What is impressive is not that they won every game, because they were clearly better than their opponent going into every game but for Bama. LSU was impressive for not blinking.

Bama wins for three linked reasons: first, no team has run a schedule like that for 14 game; second, LSU is a relatively young team and a young team is not the recipe for doing what not other team has before; third, Bama is a mature team that is no less than just as good, which IS the recipe for stopping a team from going 2-0 against them.

I dont understand why you people on here keep uttering the same line: "we deserved to win or it was ours." It is like me saying, "I shouldnt have gotten fired for sleeping on the clock because my job is important to me." In any competition regardless of end of regulation, won by a field goal or one point. A loss is a loss. You guys sound like the analysts at ESPN who said, "The Saints didnt win the Super Bowl the Colts just lost it." If LSU wouldve lost I wouldve been angry but realized that the better team won that day. You people,on the other hand, claimed victory before the game started and had to wallow in depression. The apple doesnt fall far from the tree. Your coach "cry baby" Saban. We lost in OT, not regulation. It doesnt matter when you lose the fact is having some pride about you in that moment. Alabama is a joke and as long as Saban is there it will be.

will anxiously await your follow-up post on the 10th

Alabama is a joke? I guess that's why we have been to 2 NC games in the past 3 years because we are a joke. Yep, Nick Saban sure hasn't done anything while he has been here at Alabama, no Heisman or Heisman candidates, no undefeated Championship, no SEC title, no title runs, and he even hasn't sent any assistants to higher level Head coaching positions. By the way, we ain't mad we just expect our team to do what they are doing now. Compete at the highest level. No depression here, glad to be mentioned in the top tier and competing for NC's. Thank you for your input though, it was very thoughtful and insightful.:halo:

you'll never hear me say that Bama deserved to win. Bama had every opportunity to win the 11/5 game and didn't. You'll hear no excuses from me, we lost plain and simple.

That being said, I think either team can win this game.

I'll be at the game, enjoying the atmosphere and hoping for the best.

coming on here calling bama a joke is just flat out dumb. surely you can talk football without going to the stupid level.

roll tide :)
