🏈 Rashaan Evans tweet...

Something else has ESPN's attention at the moment...they'll be on this topic for a few weeks, possibly up until the draft. I have no idea how they can regurgitate the same stuff day in and day out and still have an audience.

LOL I was thinking more along the lines of the Olympics, but that is also a big conversation piece on their end.

They're just like any other media giant, though. See: FOX, NBC, CBS, etc. :icon_confused: Same regurgitated and prescribed crap day in, day out. This is why I only really consult "The Onion" to keep on top of world happenings

They'll get to this sometime in April. I haven't watched ESPN in roughly a year, I check their website off and on during the day, but I can't stand watching it.

As for news I don't watch news except for from 4-7 am I watch CNBC's Squawk Box then sometimes I watch Squawk on the Street, but that's purely business news. The other news outlets I can't stand because it's either way liberal or in the case of news channel they're way right wing.

The reaction by Auburn fans to Rashaan's decision is reprehensible. There seems to be these kinds of fans in every school's fan base. Surely, these reactions aren't typical of the majority of the Tiger fan base, any more than were the hate mail and death threats made to Cade Foster after the Iron Bowl.

ESPN has it now:

Rashaan Evans made waves last week when he turned down his hometown Auburn Tigers and signed a national letter of intent with the rival Alabama Crimson Tide.
Since finalizing that decision, the star linebacker for Auburn High says he's felt an increasing amount of backlash from Tigers fans.
"It's getting worse," Evans told TideSports.com. "Someone actually put out an article about my family's business telling all Auburn fans not to go there. We are going to eventually start losing money. People are telling restaurants in the town not to serve us.

<!-- END INLINE QUOTE-BOX MODULE --> <!-- end inline 1 -->"It's hard for me to go out and chill with my friends like I have always done because people keep coming up to me telling me I made a bad decision. It's grown men. They are asking me why I did this to them. I told them I had to do what is best for me."
Evans is the No. 52 overall recruit in the ESPN 300 and the No. 2 outside linebacker. He was considering Alabama, Auburn and UCLA, and the SEC rivals were in such hot pursuit of the 6-foot-3, 217-pounder that they each sent representatives to his grandfather's birthday party.
But Evans ultimately chose the Crimson Tide, saying after signing his letter of intent, "Alabama was the best place for me."
Not everyone, though, agrees.
"I knew people would be mad and say stuff," Evans told TideSports.com. "I didn't think it would be like this. It wasn't a complete shock to me, but I guess that's just how fans are.
"It's just crazy right now. What's getting crazy is people are going to the board at my school trying to get me in trouble. They are telling my teachers I am a bad kid and all this stuff. It's just bad right now."
Evans said social media hasn't made it any easier.
"People on Instagram are telling me how they hope I tear my ACL in Game 1, [that] they will laugh when I do," he told the website. "They are saying my family is horrible and how they didn't raise me right. It's just crazy."
Evans took to Twitter himself this week to vent his frustrations.

In Tuscaloosa, he will reunite with Reuben Foster, a former Auburn High star who decommitted from the Tigers and chose Alabama last year.
Evans said last week that his friendship with Foster impacted his decision.
"The support from Alabama fans has been by far the greatest," Evans told TideSports.com. "They have made me feel a lot better about my decision. They are doing nothing but showing me love. They make me see I have people who are always going to have my back."

Y'know, it's one thing when an overzealous student acts like a horse's patoot, but when grown men do it, it makes you wonder about their upbringing . . . among other things.

has there ever been a case that came close to this involving a Tuscaloosa School and a kid signing with Auburn?

Our sports editor asked the same thing. I couldn't answer him, but as an LSU fan, he was crowing that no LSU fan had ever done something like this. He was saying that he couldn't believe the rivalry between Bama and the Barn was that intense.

google the most volitile college fan base...study by Emory University. See how he reacts to that study where LSU tops the SEC.

I think the whole point of this is that no fan base is really better than the other (okay, maybe Vandy). Look at Tennessee, they threw beer bottles at Vandy players last year in their loss, we have our dumb arses, LSU fans are notoriously known for being the absolute worst in the nation (which I believe is somewhat true based on my experience), barner fans give up on their team if they're losing and are doing this to a recruit, don't get me started on Georgia fans, and even Christian Miller has reported he has had some trouble with South Carolina fans.

I've experienced USC games before, and you will not find a more cocky ass fan base that totally believes they are the best thing since sliced bread.

I know, Terry. I live down here in the middle of 'em. I think he would grudgingly admit that LSU fans are just as bad, or worse, than Bama fans, or Auburn fans, or pretty much any other fan base in the conference . . . make that in the country. By the way, love the Mike and Mike video.

Awful. Inexcusable behavior. Meanwhile we all get stereotyped for what one asshat did a few years ago, and these clowns will go unnoticed by sports media (at least, I haven't seen anything).

Harassing a kid for making the best choice for him? NOT okay ..

The barn and it's cretin fan base (for some reason) just aren't held to any type of standard. They have been pulling crap like this for eons and ages, and typically, nothing is ever said about it.
