Hey guys, we'll be having Paul Finebaum on the TideCast show this coming Monday, Oct. 20th for a post-Rebels/ Pre-Vols show. Post your questions/comments for Paul here, and we'll ask them during the interview. Should be pretty entertaining.

Roll Tide!

That's a great choice for the pre-Vols game considering where he went to school.

Here's one for him...

In light of what we are witnessing with UT and AU...

Both fan bases were very vocal about the hiring of Nick Saban and how it would not have an effect on what happened within their individual programs.

Now, both fan bases are talking about hiring a new guy to lead their programs. One thing that is mentioned, again by both fan bases, is they need to have a guy come in and be able to control the "Saban effect" on recruiting.

Is this more of a lesson learned, or is it just a case where those fans had misplaced loyalties in their own coaching staffs?

It seems, the bar is set now in coaching hires. That bar is defined by "being able to recruit with the same success as Saban, Meyer, and Miles."

It's not a changing of the guard, but an upgrade from what was already a conference of some good football coaches.

I'm still intrigued with that whole Tony Franklin situation and how it played out. Talk about crazy times down there. You have Franklin in a video with stitches in his head, and people are talking that he and one of the coaches actually got into a physical altercation. You've got Bryan Mathews and his AU lap dogs filming Frankling leaving his office and making snide comments to him to try and embarress him and get the parting shot in.

Finebaum's talked about Franklin's willingness to talk in the past. Ask him how he feels about that and whether or not he expects to hear something coming out of the Franklin camp when all the litigation is finally done.

He's hinted that he thinks this is not the end of Tony Franklin vs Auburn.

This week was the first time he sort of talked about how last year there was a realistic possibility that Tubs could have switched jobs. I wonder what schools he was talking to?

As a follow up to this question, I've wondered if Tubs was considering leaving last year because he saw that this year was probably going to be a struggle. Everything Tubs has done since last year seems to be a series of desperate acts... hiring Franklin, changing his recruiting strategy, firing Franklin...

Ask Finebaum:

IF you were UT's athletic director, would you fire Phil Fullmer at the end of this season? If so, is there anything he could do to keep his job, ie winning out the rest of his games?
