This "put an asterisk" on this game is pure garbage. Not only are the above posts about our conservative play in the 3rd spot-on, but please remember, Bama had a game plan and they were prepared to play a Texas team led by Colt McCoy. The schemes were in place to play with Colt McCoy. So it is perfectly logical and feasible to think that the freshman actually made it more difficult for Bama to make adjustments and that with McCoy in the game, we may have had an even larger margin of victory. It was a clean hard hit that put McCoy out of the game and everyone hates that for the young man but please don't take anything away from our guys. CONGRATS BAMA - YOUARE 14-0 PERFECT SEASON NATIONAL CHAMPIONS

I did agree with all of your post that we could of played to win instead of playing not to lose BUT but an asterisk next to it WTF its not all fault Colt got hurt did you want Bama to say WAIT stop the game we cant play till Colt gets back

the game didnt stop when we lost Hightower did it? NO injuries are a part of the game and you need to be ready for them EVERY players should know that there 1 player away from being the starter

How about an asterisk beside Texas getting to this game by having a second added onto the clock in the Nebraska game? Should we put another asterisk beside McElroy's name because he had the toughness to play with broken ribs? How about an asterisk next to Alabama's running game for having two backs go over 100 yards against the best rushing defense in the country?

I'd have been more impressed if you could have come over and congratulated without the "don't be too proud" comment.

I sure hope we play Oklahoma for the Championship next year. Their fans man up and don't cry when something doesn't go their way.

Texas has heard all year they had the best defense for the run...not good when you have to play a PHYSICAL running team..that plays defenses every Saturday that Texas couldnt hold their jock.

First, I'm a Horn fan, and yes, I'm bitter that we lost because Colt got knocked out of the game.

But here's an honest question...Why didn't you kill us? Our playbook probably got cut down to 10 plays and the famous Bama defense didn't impress. I'm not trying to spew hate, really just wondering. Here in Austin, all we heard the whole week was how tough it was going to be to move the ball against you, but how could a freshman qb who's probably taken 10 snaps the entire season keep Texas in the game? That should never happen. I'd think twice about being too proud of yourselves.

And I've heard you guys can tailgate with the best. I wish I could have been there to enjoy the party.

The asteric would have to mean that Texas was ranked #3 or 4 but still playing in the BCS title game.

I supported Texas being #2 over Cincinatti and TCU but I have completely changed my mind on that one, largly in part to your classless fan base.

We didn't impress? We scored 37...only gave up 21.

We won the national championship...you didn't.

FWIW, Saban mentioned how the team prepared for a McCoy led team for 32 days, and they didn't know what to expect from Gilbert.
