Going back to football.

One thing I'm convinced of is what Manny Diaz has in his head: rush the hell out of the quarterback. I'm expecting to see quite a few run blitzes as well.

I've seen several conversations and articles around the 'net about how Bama's opponents are going to defend the Tide's offense in '21. What's caught my eye are a lot of these comments revolve around "they'll focus on stopping the run."

Why do I find this noteworthy? Even with the demonstrated success of Alabama's passing game last season teams still took that approach on defense: focus on defending the run (or, focus on stopping Najee.)

@50+yeartidefan I sure hope your wrong on the number of points the Bama D gives up. I am hoping for the best D that we have seen at bama for a few years now. Hopeful Bama holds them to the total points your showing for just the first half.

Bold? Not saying Miami will not be a challenge, mainly due to all of the losses to the NFL and of less experience coming back on offense, but a blowout that has only happened once during Saban's time at Bama that was in a CPF NC game is well just stupid.

In all fairness I am still upset about that performance. Bet Saban is also. With that said I think the DC should have the people in the right place and depth that it will not be the Indians this year. Roll Tide!!!!

We'll find out this season what he's made of. Two years ago injuries killed us. Last year we improved, but also had an offense taking any weight off anyone else. This year he's got talent back and will probably need to assist the offense more than last season. I've been critical, but said this year will be the one where I eat crow, hopefully.

Honestly, we have a limited idea of what the offense is capable of. There was/is a lot of holes to fill and the game experience is hard to simulate even with scrimmages with ones vs ones. That being said, My prediction is…

BTW I know you have seen my post long enough to know I still want a throw back D but probably wishful thinking on my part. A man should be able to dream especially with the talent Saban has in T-Town on Defense.

No kidding! They have a nice addition at the bottom for light/dark and I wanted to see if I could find out what they were doing...damn pop-ups makes that pratically impossible.
