We need a gambling general
Late November, early December it was something close to Bama +190 and FSU -140 (give or take a few bucks.)FWIW, I was just reminded by someone, and I'll defer to him on this, that the betting odds actually slid heavily into FSU's favor in the overnight hours last year before the CFP reveal show. I distinctly remember ESPN having FSU with 97% odds of getting in the morning of the rankings reval, I still have a screengrab of that somewhere that I look at to brighten up cloudy days. But I remembered wrong on the betting odds apparently.
See, I don't know. If clemson beats them by 3 touchdowns, I bet smu drops out completely. I think we are in a good spot. I was afraid we would be 12th.Yea, likely out if SMU loses. Sad but likely happens and we're out of the playoffs. Clearly bad schedules are the way to go. 11-1 against bad teams is better than 10-2 or 9-3 with a top 5 schedule. H2H clearly matters which is nice, but true SoS just puts you in a bad place to lose. Time to drop all the Non-conference games that aren't cakewalks.
If this somehow holds, Bama would have a solid path to the playoffs but I just don't see SMU taking down Clemson. That looks like it is starting to take shape and make a little sense. IE: UT would have to go through OSU and UO to get a SEC v SEC final.
I would hope they don't completely punish teams for Conference Championship losses, they will likely count for less than regular season losses. There's almost 90% chance that SMU would stay ahead of us in rankings or you'd have people eliminating conference championship games.See, I don't know. Why? Clemson has lost to every decent team they've played this season. Statistically, in the ACC, it points to a pretty even matchup (with SMU leading Clemson in most defensive categories.)If this somehow holds, Bama would have a solid path to the playoffs but I just don't see SMU taking down Clemson.

He is the head man but does not spend time working with individual players on a day to day basis. The assistant coaches do and that’s why I made the comment I did. I also blame the players bc they are the ones out on the field performing or not performing. CKD will make changes with his staff and we will see some players leave. He will also bring in players by the transfer portal and his incoming class is rated #1 or #2. I fully believe ( may be wrong) that he is the man for the job.Maybe you can explain this comment? CKD is the head man so does he not set the tone?
