| FTBL Playoff Rankings - Updates & Discussion (With one week left, Bama is ranked at #11)

LOL, it just hit me after seeing that post on the Miami AD... years back there was a dude that called into WJOX all the time. I think the name he went by was Bama Hater or some such. He was a huge Miami fan, but for some reason (maybe it went back to 1992?) he had a massive (an unhealthy) obsession with Alabama. He'd bitch and fuss about all things Bama. Hated UA and hated Saban. Always had an excuse for why Bama had any success and why Miami sucked. Anyway, I don't even know if he calls in anymore... but I can envision him out there tonight... throwing empty MD 20/20 bottles out the den window, eye twitching, cussing at his TV like it fucked his wife...

He is the head man but does not spend time working with individual players on a day to day basis. The assistant coaches do and that’s why I made the comment I did. I also blame the players bc they are the ones out on the field performing or not performing. CKD will make changes with his staff and we will see some players leave. He will also bring in players by the transfer portal and his incoming class is rated #1 or #2. I fully believe ( may be wrong) that he is the man for the job.
I was not implying CKD is not the right man for the job just saying he sets the tone for what he expects the coaches to follow so he has some blame in their performance in the 3 losses. I am with you in that I still think he is the man for the job. Just needs to learn from this year and not be afraid to make needed changes and oh recruit at a high level through all talent avenues (freshmen class and portal).

It's early, and my thinking cap is still in bed. In the conference Championship games, are there any other games where both teams are projected in the PO's, where the loser could be eliminated? I hate to have to place Bama's chances on either SMU or Clemson, I'd like a little more cushion. Furthermore, I'm hoping Bama's first game be against the Irish..

ROLL TIDE?

@Brandon Van de Graaff the thought occurs to me. A Clemson win could very well blow this up and there's a new format. Clemson, getting a nod and a bye after the recent loss to UofSC?

I mentioned this "fear" when the 12 team format was mentioned: "we'll likely see a team get a bye week who isn't ranked in the top 12 in the nation: FROM a power conference, not the "G league." A Clemson win and we may see that in year one. Do they bump them over UofSC after just losing to them?
