That is doubtful... They are ranked 9th currently with 1 loss, just ahead of boise and Indiana... that means to me the committee doesn't respect their schedule. Alabama is currently ranked ahead of all 2 loss teams except UGA. A loss in the championship game would most likely put SMU out of the payoff with 2 losses... and I would guess they'd be ranked behind OM and USCe too.... so not even 1st out.

Bama has the 7th best odds of winning the whole thing. IMO, it's more about the likelihood of them getting in at this point. If I recall, there was a similar shift overnight last year before the final announcement that left FSU out.
