🏈 Playoff Committee's first rankings released Tuesday, 7PM ET on ESPN

Below are the initial playoff rankings from last year. Seven undefeated teams in the top 10. The first two-loss team came in 17th. This year, we'll likely have just four undefeated teams in the initial rankings, and the current AP Poll has two-loss teams ranked 8, 11, 12, 15 and 16. I think it's possible for a two-loss Ohio State to hand an undefeated Michigan team a loss, then win out and make the playoffs - particularly if Michigan loses to Wisconsin in a rematch in their championship game. OSU should hand Nebraska a loss this week, and Wisconsin should win out, giving them the edge. Regardless, with this few undefeateds already, things will get interesting down the stretch. I just hope there's no drama for us.

I think it will be

1) Bama
2) Clemson
3) Washington
4)Michigan
5)TA&M

They factor strength of schedule and who you have left to play. Michigan just has to beat OSU winner is in loser is done, no reason for both in the poll. Clemson has played the toughest schedule so far and will coast thru the rest of their schedule. Washington has played a reasonable schedule..(By Pac 12 standards) and have an easy schedule the rest of the way. Michigan will be 4th because the only team they have played of any value is wisconsin and they barely sneaked by and looked bad doing it. Crappy schedule plus looking crappy against wisconsin and a horrible michigan state team will hurt them

1. Bama
2. Clemson
3. Michigan
4. Washington

5. Ohio State (OL appears to me to be the weak link. JTB isn't having the success expected, and it may be due to the OL.)
T6. Louisville (They are losing ground struggling with teams that are not good - but they still win.)
T6. Texas A/M (They're good and the D is what sets them apart from some of the others.)

Also, consideration to:
Nebraska, Florida, and Boise State... just kidding on Boise... :slap8:

CFB Playoff Committee Chairman explains why Texas A&M is ranked over Washington

The biggest suprise in the first edition of the College Football Playoff Top 25 Poll came in the Top 4, as one-loss Texas A&M was ranked just ahead of undefeated and Pac-12 favorite Washington.

During his live televised segment following the unveiling of the poll, CFB Playoff Selection Committee Chairman Kirby Hocutt explained the decision to put a second SEC team in the initial Top 4 of the poll.

“Simply stated, the committee, in our mind, believes that Texas A&M has played a stronger schedule at this point in time of the season over Washington,” Hocutt said live during ESPN’s CFP Top 25 show.

“Texas A&M’s got four wins against teams with records that are at better than .500 compared to Washington only having two wins.”

So there you have it, wins over winning teams (Auburn, Arkansas, South Carolina, Tennessee) and scheduling continues to play a large factor in the mind’s of the playoff committee and the Aggies scheduling UCLA out of conference has paid off for now in the first rankings. Meanwhile, the Huskies scheduled Rutgers, Idaho and Portland State in the non-conference and currently has two impressive wins over Stanford and Utah.

If Washington wins out, they will, IMO, be ranked ahead of A & M in the final poll.
Clemson has beaten Fl. State, Auburn and one other team ranked in the top 10 so far this year. That is a pretty good resume. They have won ugly but they have won.
Michigan has played at home and beaten one top ten team so far. I do like their defense.
A & M gets the 4 spot based on strength of schedule. They have a great chance of winning out.
Washington, I will be honest, I do not know much about them this year other than they play in Seattle, have a beautiful stadium and go by the nickname Huskies.
The Buckeyes got beat by an improved Penn St. team, won at Oklahoma and play Michigan in the season finale.
Louisville, IMO, plays a soft overall schedule.
Bama is number one right now for a reason, best defense and a very tough schedule. Win and everything takes care of itself.

Washington has not really play anyone!
Clemson F$U and that other team south of me, Troy should have beating them!
Michigan ,Wisconsin, and maybe Ohio St.
A&M being place 4th has a better record and played more top 25 teams.
Ohio St the Penn St lost didn't help them, just like Michigan played Wisconsin, but then got Michigan to play.
Louisville in the ACC.
Until Bama has a very bad day, should stay top.

We all get upset when the ESPN talking heads say ridiculous things about our favorite team. Did you catch David Pollack's goof during the program last night? It does show how ill-prepared these guys can be.

When discussing the initial 2016 College Football Playoff rankings, Pollack said the Aggies could give themselves a big boost if they beat Alabama.
“I’m talking about if Texas A&M beats Alabama,” he said when discussing the Aggies being ranked ahead of the Washington Huskies in the initial poll.
When the others on the panel quickly corrected his mistake, Pollack owned up to it and poked some fun at himself.
“Yeah, I’m an idiot,” he said. “That’s my bad.”
"I'm an idiot"
