And just for this questions sake we'll put them at #2 going into the SECCG. They lose the game and end up with one loss on the season.

Here's the one loss scenario we've talked about but I want to add one condition to it: Franklin just got hurt as badly in the SECCG as he did against UGA. He's out.

Should that have a bearing on whether or not they are in the top four for the playoff?

Nope it shouldn't. If Bama is #1 going into the SECCG and gets hurt just as bad as Franklin should that have a bearing on whether Bama is in or not?

I'm leaning towards the conclusion that in an altruistic world it wouldn't matter but in reality it should and like would. A teams worth/ranking is determined by who is healthy and who isn't. Georgia provides context.

If Te'o would have been hurt during at the end of Notre Lame's season, do you think domers would have been in the title game?

Definitely. After the other unbeatens (Alabama, Oregon, Kansas State) fell, Notre Dame was unquestionably going to be number 1, and it would be a cold day in hell when the only unbeaten team and the #1 ranked team did NOT make it to the natty! If it had been a "lower" conference team like Ohio or Boise State or Fresno State, the conversation might be a bit different, but it IS Notre Dame; perpetually overrated. Granted, were they truly a "number 1" team? Were they better than the Ducks or the Wildcats? Who knows. Makes you wonder how differently last year could have turned out ..

If Te'o would have been hurt during at the end of Notre Lame's season, do you think domers would have been in the title game?

Undefeated, yes.

If we go to the one loss scenario, I don't see them in the title game. It would have ended up an all-SEC final again.
