I go walk six just about every morning in the summer. Our neighborhood has an actual wetland in it (it's small, but it's an ecological sight to see). I've lived here for nine years. Today on the second pass down the service road, I encountered these two guys:
I thought at first I was looking at a copperhead and perhaps a racer (shiny, bold black with no other markings - it's a beaut!). Now that I'm not looking at them in the sun, I can see they're both cottonmouths.
