I was wrong earlier when I said saws-all. It was a multi-task tool/oscillating tool. I didn't know what I was doing when I started. I just guessed the best way was to keep it wet. It was a grueling job. Not a big deal on the water; we'd already pulled the flooring out.Cleaning brick by hand is an acquired skill. The more lime and lest Portland cement in the mortar, the easier it is. Some guys can clean 500 to a thousand a day, by hand.
That's a project...but, as said earlier, it'll look great!@TerryP well I lied to you, guess the chimney ain't staying. I thought I could pull half the house down and leave the chimney but the whole house came and the chimney with it. My wife is paying my daughter to get all the whole bricks out so sounds like it'll be a walkway.
I'm sure it will just something else on the listThat's a project...but, as said earlier, it'll look great!

A box of the multi grain noodles (three colors.)
Three bell peppers, or four, go with different colors. Diced.
Red Onion. Diced.
A pound or so of ham, diced.
A bar of cheese, diced.
A jar of Uncle Ken's Vidalia Onion dressing ...
Add what ever spices you want after that ... black pepper, I use red pepper flakes. I top mine with bacon bits.
Mix, chill, and serve.
I'm telling ya, Rick...I'll eat several bowls of that in a day. BUT, I'm a five/six meal a day guy...I'm not a three meal a day kind of eater.
