I'd have to go look, but I am thinking Bryant's record vs LSU was along the lines of 16-3...something like that.

Mike the Tiger prolly was a little intimidated....

LSU had pretty good teams in the late '60's and early 70's

Charlie McClendon LSU HC for much of Bryant's time at Bama, was a Bryant protege and was quite successful, except that he couldn't beat Bryant. Ultimately that cost him his job. The same thing happened to Bill Battle at UT.

Terry, for a big portion of my football watching life Alabama played UT on the 3rd Saturday in October "to find out how good we are" as Coach Bryant used to say. The rivalry was fierce, but there was a lot of respect through coaches Dickey, Battle and Majors. You are right that Fulmer changed all that. Maybe Dooley can help to restore the mutual respect to the rivalry.
