🏈 Phillip Ely considering transfer from Alabama

Good thinking. Some folks just like to be really upfront and douche-y about 'their' generation. It's their misfortune, really. Just makes 'em single-minded and ignorant.

So just out of curiosity: did y'all determine he is also CC? Or was that just a joke? I saw a few CC references on another post so I am just wondering haha. Was never a fan of CC, but OLDSCHOOL never really bugged me til this thread.

lol yeah hes CC he pretty much admitted it...

and now this thread has turned into Anchorman lmao

I hope that Ely finds a fit there at USF and does well. I felt like he was going to get buried in the depth chart anyways. A sure sign is when the staff gets commits from 2-3 in your position. I know CNS normally likes to take 1 QB in each class but a commit from McCloud and Bateman and then Del Rio opting to be an invited walk on was the writing on the wall.

Transferring to another school is not quitting. Any kid today at this level can transfer with permission. If the coaches give them permission then it is OK for them to try to improve their position. This is the time of year when they should do it. I know that when I went to college and tried out for the team, the level of playing was way over what my perception was. I was a good high school player but just didn't measure up to the level that was needed to compete at that level. You can love the game and do it at many different levels. Obviously if a kid leaves BAMA then he has to realize that he can't compete at that level or he would be on the starter team. I wish them well at a lower level.

So that really was CrimsonCrazy? If so that's hilarious. Thought he said that we couldn't think for ourselves and that he was done posting here? That's classic...I think the guy might actually be a nut.

Everything clearly isn't workin just right upstairs in that dude. I guess his alter ego Crimson Crazy was "done" with the site but Old School took over lol

I am not trying to prolong the subject, but I didn't know where else to ask: I see an "in my opinion: warning to new users of this forum" post by CC (kinda had to read it, after this fascinating thread!) but whenever I click it, it says something about not having the administrative powers to view it or I may be blocked from it. Is my account messed up, is the thread blocked .. ? :headscratch:

Yes, it is blocked...seemed the poor fellow spent half the night pasting quotes and dogging other members for what he felt as him being slighted. It wasn't anything bad or threatening, I just feel the Moderators were tired, very tired, of his antics and tactics.

I think that is a reasonable explanation of the deleted thread, which all parties involved I feel will agree with me on.

Lets not ever mention the names "CrimsonCrazy" or "OLDSCHOOL" again in the future, less we be accused of "living in the past"...:icon_lol:

Thank you moderators! Much appreciated.

Now let's get back to talking football! :chat2_cheers:

I certainly can not blame a kid for transferring. It's just inevitable sometimes. At the end of the day, the players have to do what is best for them. That's it. These kids are only kids once. Ely has a VERY small window of time to play ball. Now is the time to do it, and he has to go to the place that gives him the best chance to do just that. In a few short years from now, he won't be "old" per se, but he will be older. He can't sit on the bench somewhere until he's well into his mid-20's. It doesn't work that way. I hope he does well at USF.

As for the generational thing, well, that's just funny. All I know is, age don't mean squat! I have witnessed some much older people (well past 50) do some very immature things. (Like laughing about gas passing). And, I have met some people under the age of 30 who were very mature and down to earth.

Chase Goodbread said the "Phillip Ely transfer" was just internet rumor. He has spoken with his parents / viable sources and they all confirm the Philip will be competing for the backup QB job this spring at Bama.
