I was there. my first Bama game ever!
was sitting on the 50-yard line in the press box and I loved it
stayed till the final gun...

it was a win for a program that will get there under Saban
it'll take a little time, but Bama will get there..

I talked to my friend who works on some of the ambulances during gameday and he said that most of their calls on saturday were due to heat. We should never leave a game like we left it on Saturday. The team needed us there. I bet Saban would've been a lot more mad about people leaving should we have lost. However, if there were any defense to leaving the game early, it would be that it was extremelly hot. For those that left early, some dedicated people would very much like to have your seats.

Good lord it's not like it was 105 degrees with a heat index of 115. People in their 20's should be able to handle 90 degree weather. The sun was down a good bit by the 3rd quarter so stop making excuses for the lame asses that left. The last time I sat in the student section a third of the students could care less about the game. They were too busy talking to buds and hotties. They should donate their tickets to someone who wants to be there.

QFT!! It was not THAT hot on Saturday. Moreover, it was not very humid at all compared to TRUE summer. The fans who left were fairweather fans in the true sense of the word. Fans like that give us a bad name. It is THOSE fans that think we should replace any coach as soon as he looses a few games.

Makes me sick.

The sad part was that it was students.

Good post IMO swamp the 2nd and 3rd team playes need support to if it is a blow out and We ask our team to ply hard for the entire game and they see the fans leaveing them that don't look good IMO

I never meant to insinuate that CTT was a Saint but was merely saying that NS probably should have left the scolding of students and fans up to the president and AD, or is he filling those positions as well?

He was. At BDS the fans are an important part of the game. That tradition is built on years of selling out games. As you're a barner I don't expect you to know anything about that.

If you think calling out the NCAA and other conferences for holding athletes to lower standards than the SEC does, you are more ignorant than you at first appear.

Did you expect a U-Haul to show up at CNS's house in Miami? How does that have anything to do with class? If the cry-baby Miami fans can't stand to see a Crimson Tide tractor-trailer, they need to re-evaluate their lives.

The comment made by Saban was at the beginning of the presser. It was a joke about not leaving early because the games had been ending late. It wasn't a "football classiness 101" instruction seminar like you have suggested.

Forget what you may have read or been told...it was a bit of levity, period.

Not to ruffle any feathers, but I have been to a fair amount of Alabama football games (having been born and raised in Tuscaloosa) and I have NEVER NEVER NEVER N E V E R left a football game early. Not when we were up big, not when we were down big. Not when it was freezing and not when it was sweltering.

Auburn in T-town, 2000. Started tailgating around 8AM (maybe 3 hrs sleep)with the temp in the low teens, wind blowing, with sleet and rain. I left at halftime to go to the house and watch the game there.

Nah, he's not filling in as President or AD. The President's busy cementing The University's position as the largest, best known and academically superior school in Alabama. The AD's busy with a building program, and planning for the next since we bring more to a scrimmage than you do to an SEC contest.

As Moreno mentioned, that's a pathetic list of "indictments" of Coach Saban. His work ethic is well known. That he has a few parting comments for fans and students is a non-issue. That is, unless you're an aubrun fan viewing the world through manure-smeared glasses.

The man is humble in victory but blameless in defeat. Tubby will blame his players, his staff, injuries and even ESPN for his team's shortcomings. Never himself. Selling out players after a loss was almost an art form:

"If I wanted to run a high school offense then maybe I'd start Jason Campbell."

No, this was not a comment meant for his staff’s ears only. Tommy said this for all the media to hear at a post game press conference. Not exactly constructive criticism for the quarterback who would eventually save Tommy's rear!

I don't agree with it necessarily but much of it has to do with the product on the field.

I stayed at that game. It was miserable but I still satyed. I was in school at UA at the time.

The only time my family and I has left early during a game was when we recieved a call when my grandma had just passed away. The way I see it, if you're going to spend all that time/money/gas/effort to go to T-Town to watch a bama game, and you call yourself a fan, then stay the whole game.

People left early because our team was stinking up the field. I know it looked like a close game but really FSU kicked our butts all day and we just didn't play well. I hope this isn't a vision of things to come under Saban?
