When the guys came out of the locker room the other night what in the world were they rubbing? I've never seen our guys rub anything much less something that looks like a white pipe.

yeah i saw that and went like WTF????
the guy sitting @ the next tabel to me at Wings in Montgomery was like...."what the hell is that thing? looks like a piece of plumbing?"

Where's Terry? Terry git in here and tell us what the heck that thing was and were can we find it to blow it up?

FWIW, I posted this same question on another forum and was told it said WIN on the other side and hangs above the entrance to BD stadium from the locker room. I was not aware of this if correct.

It is a section of a crossbar from a goal post. I'm not sure if it is the same one that is normally mounted above the locker room exit or not. It might be the same, and they take it down for road games, or they might have 2, I don't know.

The section of crossbar below the "WIN" sign above the door looked longer than the piece they were touching at the Sugar Bowl. I'm sure it could be taken down, but it's well attached to the wall above the door.

Its was an alarm clock and they were hitting the Snooze Button. Does anyone know where I can get one of those 12-minute Snooze alarm clocks, mine only has a 5-minute?

I guess we now know that each lockers will be decorated with sections of crossbar next season, which is a step up from the photo of a losing score on the scoreboard. "Regal. Certified CLASSY" - Lee Corso

Perhaps we not need to mimic the old Chicago Bulls' pregame chant "What time is it! Game Time!"

Well, whatever it was it didn't work. I guess the moral of the story is:

  • Don't ever rub your white pipe in the locker room before a game (even if it is 12" - looked more like 6" or 8" to me) .

 That is the funniest thing I've ever heard about this lost.

It may have been something Saban brought to Bama from a previous job...

I cannot find the details, but I believe the story is that the crossbar that hangs over the LSU locker room door was cut from the uprights that were in Tiger Stadium in 1958 when we won our first national title. When Saban came to LSU, he had a portable crossbar made (it looked like it was made of PVC) and mounted on a wooden base. On road trips he brought the portable bar with the team so they could still rub the "WIN!" bar on their way out of the locker room.

I believe they might have two. And, from what I've been told and read, that pipe is batting over .700, so it's working more than you think.
