Actually we did lose the playoffs due to Sims' inaccuracy. If you re-watch the game, you'll see our last opportunity squandered by Sims overthrowing a WIDE OPEN receiver 12 yards downfield.
I really really really fail to understand how the majority of our fanbase seems to think that Sims was the second coming of christ, and won't say one bad word about him, but have a mile long list of bullshit to say about Coker.
Sims couldn't crack the 6th string QB spot in the CFL. Coker will be drafted to the NFL.
You people are ******* stupid, and have selective memory.
So we lost to OSU b/c of one incomplete pass? I'm not going to call you names or troll your intellect, you do a great job of taking the lead there.
And my point was very, very simple-->
You don't set the passing records at 'Bama without being accurate & miss passes from time to time too. I underlined it for emphasis. Here are their stats:
Blake Sims 2014 Stats = 3487 passing yards, 28 TD's & 10 interceptions
Jacob Coker 2015 Stats = 2489 passing yards, 17 TD's & 8 interceptions
Don't let the facts get in the way of your perceptions.
FWIW, I don't think Sims was the second coming of Christ but I do think he is better than Coker
so far & last I checked, so did the coaches. But hey, CNS apparently failed to get your view on the matter & 'Bama lost to OSU because of that too, huh?
If 'Bama wins the NC with Coker, I'll have no problem affirming Coker as the better QB.
Oh yea, since you mentioned a crappy pass blocking for Coker & what we all chose to remember, I'm glad you brought up the topic of sacks. Coker has 17 now & Sims had 13. Both years the O-line has been suspect about pass protection but 'Bama was the least sacked team in the SEC that year & it had everything to do with how Sims avoided sacks better at that position than anyone else. Coker has been pretty gritty at that too but dang, that's got nothing to do with accuracy. Sorry to chase that squirrel.
Coker has earned his spot on the team as QB. I don't think he earned b/c of his
fantastic accuracy though. His determination & grit did. I love that about him. He has made great throws, good throws, decent throws, lucky throws, & bad throws. His TD to Mullaney was EPIC but his TD pass to Stewart, into tripple coverage, lucky.
Lastly, there is a litany of QB's drafted in the NFL. That doesn't make them world beaters or accurate.
