Brings back memories of our game against Texas and all the effort that went into getting new turf down for the big game.

If I had my say in the matter, I'd not have any games in the same stadium as the BCSNC. You know with less than a week we're going to see chunks of turf coming up.

I do not have a picture handy but I have to say on TV and in-person that grass in Pasadena in 2010 when we played Texas was the prettiest most colorful grass I have ever seen. Anyone else agree?:tickled_pink:

Michael Casagrande One of the ex-Bama writers is down in Miami covering the Hurricanes, he did an article on the change of the field - so guess they are only changing the sod out where the logo's were.

Bummer

MIAMI GARDENS — The Orange Bowl was barely history early Wednesday morning when Sun Life Stadium work crews began the transition.A few Florida State revelers were still hanging around following the 31-10 beating of Northern Illinois when the goal posts came down and BCS National Championship Game week unofficially began. Monday, the field will take on a new look with No. 1 Notre Dame and No. 2 Alabamaplaying for the championship on the same surface.

Well, almost.

The painted end-zone sod and the mid-field logo will be swapped out this week with fresh grass for Monday night's game. It's not a new exercise for stadium workers who change out the 50-yard line logos between Miami Hurricane and Dolphin games.

The playing field used for the Orange Bowl was a completely new carpet installed after the Dolphins' final home game of the season. The grass had time to settle in since Miami last used the stadium Dec. 23 in the 24-10 win over the Buffalo Bills.

In the past, new natural grass playing fields had much less time to take root. In 2010, Alabama played Texas on a new carpet when the
BCS title game was played at the Rose Bowl. Crews laid a second layer of sod on top of the field used seven days earlier for the Rose Bowl game.
