| FTBL One of Bryant Denny's Loudest Moments And...

I was there.

That was pretty dang loud.

Another loud one at the top of the list was in 07 when JPW hit Matt Caddell on that leaping jump ball fade in the back west corner of the north end zone in the final seconds to beat Ar-kansas.

That was a pretty loud moment. I was in the shelf right above that corner and it looked like Caddell climbed to the top of an invisible 12' ladder to go grab that and come down with it.
I was at the 2007 game also. Lots of great moments. I was sitting closer to the 50 yard line for the LSU game and had my son with me who would have been around 6 years old at the time. His eyes got as big as quarters and we could not hear each other sitting right beside each other. We were close to the press box under the over hang so the sound was focused in that area for us. Only time I ever sat there. Normal seats were in the northwest corner around the goal line. Saw the Matt Caddell catch right in front of us in those seats.

Also saw our TE let the LSU secondary guy take the ball away from him :(.

Been lots of great moments. Was also at the 36-0 game against the Barn to shove that thumb right up Tubbervilles ass..... There was indeed a new sherriff in town and everyone new it.

I was in the student section that day (season). I remember all to well, some UF fans up in U4 AA that were doing the gator chomp while Protho was down. That obviously didn't go over well... Just about the time it was about to boil over and cause a brawl between the fan bases, officers showed up and escorted them out. Prothro injury aside though, that was my favorite Bama game under Shula (not that there were many to choose from). The game against the Vols a later that month was #2.
Shula did have some....beating tcu in bowl....but those games vsAU werehis undoing...we were awful...see OL play

IF I'm not mistaken that's the game where some of their fans were walking across the front lawn of either Sigma Nu or ... Beta? Ah, I can't remember. Their parking lot, in back, backs up to Friedman, I think. (Remember what today is...) That fight got nasty.

Ya remember those days? When the fights on The Strip were with people who actually lived, or went to school, in Tuscaloosa?

(It's a cryin' shame students avoided The Strip after A-day...just messed up.)

It's one reason we are unlikely to ever have another A-Day tailgate... it was an issue that begin to manifest about 8-10 years ago with groups of people that had no interest in the game, they just wanted to cause trouble... and it has only gotten worse since. I was talking about it a few days ago with both a current and a former TPD investigator. TPD and UA (let's call it like it is, Maddox and Bell) are going to have to make some uncomfortable decisions in the near future or it's going to begin having a noticeable impact on UA's enrollment.

It's already having an effect on UA alumni and where they are choosing to encourage their kids to attend college. It has an effect on alumni who choose NOT to return to campus for events like A-day.

A friend of mine has a daughter who is in her first year of Grad school. Saturday night she told her dad they were going to some place in Northport that evening: "I wouldn't be caught dead on The Strip or downtown tonight because ..."

I don't consider it to be hyperbolic to say Tuscaloosa is inching towards the aftermath of this ... and, what happened Saturday night resembled the beginning of this; A LOT.
