🏈 On Auburn's second scoring TD

Did anyone else notice they were giving a free down, it should have been 4th down when they scored instead of 3rd. I am not home so i am unable to watch a replay at the moment to verify

I thought the same thing, and wondered if the pass had been dropped would they have been given a fifth down. I don't have the game recorded, so I can't go back and look right now.

I'm just going by memory, but if it happened on the same series as the interception that was negated by the false start, that play didn't count.

That's the one. Maybe that's what threw me off. I still want to see it again, or hear from someone who can watch it again. I figured I was wrong mostly just because no one else had mentioned it.

Oh wow yes sir! My wife and I was like alright 4th down. But then they got another play and it was 3rd. I think they got an extra myself.

OK I thought that myself. It was after they had gotten the first down for Woddall PF.

yea they got a first down after the horrible personal foul on Woodall. first off, how can a personal foul come "after the play is over" when the original flag stopped that original play from ever actually happening? not only that but Woodall's personal foul was him being frustrated for not getting his pick and slinging the ball to the side. they pick and choose what they call personal fouls, tuanting, etc. far too much.

Yep I couldn't agree more. You'd think the refs had a bet on the game or something.........

Ok I just watched it and here is what happened. After the PF by Woodall they gave them half the distance and automatic first down. what they didn't do was take away the chains. So they has first down and 5 to go. So they got another first down with Ben Tates first run. So it was right on the field what was wrong was they should have taken the chains up and it be first and goal instead of them just needing 5 yards for a first.

I was there (so i havent seen the replay) but the personal foul call didnt give AUB a first down. It was half the distance which gave AUb another 3rd down (the negated INT never was a down so its just a repeat)Tate then ran for a first down. Nothing screwy happened there.

Riddle me this.... The play was stopped for a illegal shift or false start if I am correct. If there is two fouls, don't they wipe the play, or count it as offset? Why does Woodall.s infraction count and not the false start? Am I missing something? That series of downs was screwy, to say the least.

Both were dead ball fouls so they both count. (false start was the call.....as an illegal shift can still have the play continue) dead ball fouls are always enforced. Were it two penalties during the play they would offset.
