🏈 OK. We lost, but !!!!

lets not start pointing fingers.CF did not lose this ballgame missing FG,s.Come on folks thats the easy way out .If this team has to rely on a FG to beat LSU then we were never NO 2 TEAM IN THE COUNTRY.My hats off to the Tide D. I still think is the best in the country!!!!

No question about the D. We held them under 200 total yards and 6 points in regulation. Our D absolutely stuffed them and we should be able to score more than 6 points and win that game. You can't blame one guy (Cade) for a loss, but those missed FGs really hurt. It also hurt that we couldn't get closer or even score a TD. The INT at the 1, I still think was a bad call - it was a tie catch all the way to the ground. Tie goes to the offensive player. It should have been our ball at the 1.

But the biggest thing for me is: Why didn't we run the no-huddle to neutralize their D-Line rotation? That was their real strength on D and if we had run the no-huddle frequently they would have been hard pressed to rotate and it would have given us the advantage.

At the end of the day, special teams played a bigger role than I had hoped. They have kickers and we don't. We missed 4 field goals and they missed none. We had more 1st downs (17-15), more total yards (295-239), more passing yards, but fewer rushing yards.

Proud of our guys and it was one for the ages, but it was ours to take. They didn't beat us, we made more mistakes.

Yes. I blame Foster. I also blame the entire special teams unit and I blame whoever recruits our kickers.

Sorry, but I'm not going to blame a kid that went out there for 3 snaps. He tried and failed. It happens! Blame the O-line for not blocking on 1-3 downs and us having to settle for long fg attempts. Blame coaches for play calling, players for committing penalties! I'm not going to blame the players for the loss after they busted their ass, making a sacrifice, and falling a little short. The last time that I blamed a player for a loss, it was the 80 MSU game in Jackson. BAMA was riding a 28 or 29 game win streak. We lost 6-3. Alan Gray fumbled on the 3yd line going in for the winning score. I blamed him for that loss. I totally over looked the fact that we had 5-6 lost fumbles earlier in the game. I was 10!! I have grown up since that time. Some of you need to do the same!!!

He's on scholarship at Alabama to kick FGs and kickoffs. Obviously he's absolutely horrendous at both. We outplayed the opposing team on offense and defense (albeit marginally) and our kicking (and special teams in general) were so terrible that we lost. How often does that happen? How does that sit with you? I'm just wondering when this staff be able to recruit kickers who don't suck.

this.

at the end of the day, it's painfully ironic that you can have the best recruiter in CFB at the helm who can get the nastiest defense and the best RBs in the country for your team, but what they do is ultimately UTTERLY worthless if you've neglected to worry about recruiting even an average kicker to keep their performance from being a total waste in the event of a close game like this.

Well the thing is we have had terrible luck with the kickers recruited. They've all been supposedly wonderful coming out of highschool. Foster allegedly barely missed in HS. There are videos of Jay Williams booming punts and he excelled at some kicking camps, yet has never seen the field. We have the best kicker in the country committed for next year. If he pans out better, this issue may be over.

If we can't run the ball with Trent Richardson in the backfield, we can't run the ball. It won't matter who kicks. There's plenty of blame to go around. I love where Saban has Alabama. He deserves all the credit in the world. Unfortunately for him, he deserves the credit when they lose as well. I wouldn't want any other coach. But, he had a big hand in losing this one. If you have the best players in the country and you lose, whose fault is it? He lost. Oh well, he'll win some other big ones. He blew this one though, and it hurts. He'll win some others. Bama may win the Mythical National Championship for 2011 yet. We'll have to wait and see.

Folks, I've said it before. Enjoy it when you win. Don't let it ruin your life when you lose. This is a great time to be a Bama fan.

If Cody Parker comes in and doesn't become an above average PK in the SEC, then my suspicions will grow exponentially that the recruitment of kickers isn't the issue. It's their development (or lack of) once they get on campus... Which IMO isn't their fault. Parker is an exceptional kicker though who should win the job pretty easily.
