No question about the D. We held them under 200 total yards and 6 points in regulation. Our D absolutely stuffed them and we should be able to score more than 6 points and win that game. You can't blame one guy (Cade) for a loss, but those missed FGs really hurt. It also hurt that we couldn't get closer or even score a TD. The INT at the 1, I still think was a bad call - it was a tie catch all the way to the ground. Tie goes to the offensive player. It should have been our ball at the 1.
But the biggest thing for me is: Why didn't we run the no-huddle to neutralize their D-Line rotation? That was their real strength on D and if we had run the no-huddle frequently they would have been hard pressed to rotate and it would have given us the advantage.
At the end of the day, special teams played a bigger role than I had hoped. They have kickers and we don't. We missed 4 field goals and they missed none. We had more 1st downs (17-15), more total yards (295-239), more passing yards, but fewer rushing yards.
Proud of our guys and it was one for the ages, but it was ours to take. They didn't beat us, we made more mistakes.
